My uncle is a reporter in a TV station. Yesterday he {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(邀请) me to visit the station. It was my lucky day! My uncle {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(带领) me around the station. He told me to {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(避免) making any noise, because some programmes were on air. The station is big and beautiful. There are many studios in it. To my big {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(惊奇), I met my favourite presenter. She {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (似乎) to be more beautiful. She was reading {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (文章;报道) of the latest {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(国际的) news in English. In other studios, some presenters were doing {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (采访); some were answering the calls from {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(听众). They were all very busy. I really hope to have a {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(兼职的) job in the TV station to experience their work one day. From now on, I will try my best to study for it.

Parents should stop blaming(责备) themselves because there's not a lot they can do about it. I mean the teenager problem. Whatever you do or however you choose to deal with it, at certain times a wonderful, reasonable and helpful child will turn into a terrible animal. I've seen friends deal with it in all kinds of different ways. One strict mother insisted that her son, right from a child, should stand up whenever anyone entered the room, open doors an d shake hands like a gentleman. I saw him last week when I called round. 

Sprawling（懒散地躺） himself on the sofa in full length，he made no attempt（尝试），and his greeting was no more than a quick glance at me.His mother was ashamed. "I don't know what to do with him these days，"she said."He's forgotten all the manners we taught him."

He hasn't forgotten them.He's just decided that he's not going to use them.She said that she would like to come up behind him and throw him down from the sofa onto the floor.

Another good friend of mine let her two daughters climb all over the furniture，reach across the table，stare at me and say

"Where did we go wrong？"her parents are now very sad.Probably nowhere much.

At least，no more than the rest of that unfortunate race，parents.

Ye Shengtao was a famous Chinese writer. He created the first collection of fairy tales(童话集) named The Scarecrow(《稻草人》) for Chinese children between 1921 and 1922.

Ye was born in 1894 in Jiangsu. He once worked {#blank#}1{#/blank#} a teacher in a primary school He often told his students stories from Chinese and foreign classics. His students were all happy {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (listen) to those stories.

In 1921, Ye {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (begin) to write fairy tales for a magazine. He finished his first fairy tale Little White Boat in November of {#blank#}4{#/blank#} same year. In the following seven months, Ye wrote {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (many) fairy tales than before. And they made up The Scarecrow we see today.

There are two kinds of stories in the collection. The {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (one) story is about children's innocent smiles and beautiful feelings like Little White Boat. People's hard life like The Scarecrow {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (describe) in the second story. In the story, the scarecrow often sees poor people's difficulties in life, {#blank#}8{#/blank#} he isn't able to stop them from happening or give people a helping hand. He feels very helpless and falls down in the field at last. Ye wanted children to care about what happened around {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (they). And he hoped children could understand adult's {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (sad) after reading the collection.

Good works always stand the test of time. Nowadays, Ye's fairy tales are still popular with children.

I'm from a small town. It lies in(位于) the east of Zhejiang Province near the East Sea. You can't see it on the map of China because it is too small. There are not many tall buildings in the town. The tallest building is the primary school. 

The population of the town is fifty thousand. The East Sea is to the east of the town. To the south is the flat land. Some low hills are near the town. And a river runs through the town. 

The weather here is comfortable. It's not too cold in winter or too hot in summer. There is a big garden in the town. We can hear birds singing everywhere in the garden. And there are many kinds of fishes in the town. The fishermen(渔民) in my home town are all living a happy life. 

I love my home town and I hope it will become better and better!

Rita was tired from basketball practice, and she had to study for the next day's math test. Instead of either sleeping or studying, however, she was babysitting. And it wasn't 1 !

A man in Shanwei in eastern Guangdong Province rented 12 trucks to protect his restaurant against typhoon Saola, which became a piece of hot news.

The restaurant is just over 100 {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(metre) away from the sea,but it did not experience any loss from Saola, according to Southern Metropolis Daily. "The tall, huge and strong trucks can protect the restaurant from the typhoon,"said the restaurant owner, Mr Lin. Lin even loaded mud（装载泥浆）onto the trucks to make {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(they) heavy enough to keep strong when the typhoon came. Typhoon Saola resulted in a rainstorm in Shanwei. 68{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(lucky),it did not do any harm to his restaurant.

These trucks cost Lin {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(much) than 20,000 yuan. Some people thought it was unnecessary to protect the restaurant by {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(spend) so much money on the trucks. However, Lin {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(believe) it was valuable. This was not {#blank#}7{#/blank#}first time for Lin to use trucks to protect his restaurant. Lin also saved his restaurant with 12 trucks during the earlier typhoon Doksuri {#blank#}8{#/blank#}August. He said he would do the same {#blank#}9{#/blank#}next typhoon comes.

After learning that Saola was gradually leaving, Lin decided to return the trucks {#blank#}10{#/blank#} reopen the restaurant.
