2023 is a breakout year for Al. It is changing how we live in every way. For example, there is an Al restaurant in Shanghai. Let's see what it is like.

The Al restaurant, located in the Hongqiao Area, covers about 130 square meters. It can serve about 300 people every day, most of whom are old people living nearby or office workers in the area. 

At the restaurant, people need to order food on a screen. For those who are not sure what to eat, the restaurant's robots can give advice. Then. the robots cook the dishes according to the order. They can make different kinds of Chinese dishes. like gongbao chicken and mapo toufu. What's more. the robots can control (控制) the temperature for dine-in or take-away food to keep the dishes warm. At the self-service area, people simply need to place their dishes on. a smart cash desk and the robots will tell them the price of the meal. People can pay in different ways, like asking bank cards or QR codes (二维码). The prices of the food at the AI restaurant are pretty low. Every meat dish costs only 8 yuan while every vegetable dish costs only 3. 5 yuan.

"The meals cooked by robots taste as good as those cooked by humans. It is cheap and convenient (方便的) for us to eat in the Al restaurant," said-an old man.

I have many friends. Are they my pets (宠物)? No. Are they my classmates? No. Let me tell you. They are my favourite books. I like reading science books and physics books. They help me know how to be a clever boy. I have much fun when I read them.

Reading should be part of our life. But the problem is that there's too much to read these days and we have too little time to read . If we want to read more books and get more knowledge by reading books, we should try to learn some reading skills. Here are some skills. 

Preview—if the materials are long and hard. Previewing is very useful for getting a general （总的）idea of long articles and reports. We can read the first two paragraphs and the last two paragraphs carefully, and then we can only read the first sentence of the other paragraphs （段落）. 

Skim—if the materials are short and easy. Skimming is a good way to get a general idea of popular magazines or the sports, stars and movies of daily paper. 

While skimming, get our eyes to move fast and sweep them across each line. We can pick up only a few key words in each line. Everybody skims differently. People may not pick up the same words when we are skimming the same news, but usually we can get the same ideas of what it is all about. 

When my first wartime Christmas came, I was in a new soldier school in Ashland and not sure if I could make it home for the holidays. On the afternoon of December 23, we were told some of us would have three-day holidays posted. I was one of the lucky soldiers.

It was Christmas Eve when I arrived home, and a light snow had fallen. Mother opened the front door. I could see over her, into the corner of the living room where the tree had always stood. There were lights all colors shining in the green of the tree.

"Where did it come from?" I asked.

I asked the gate boy to cut it" my mother said. "I wouldn't have had one just for myself, but you called in such a rush! He just brought it in this afternoon."

The tree was almost as tall as the room, and the Tree Top Star was in its place. A few branches reached about a little disorderly at the side, I thought, and there was a big bare branch（树枝） showing in the middle. But the tree filled the room with the pleasant smell of Christmas.

"It's not like the one you want to find, " my mother went on. "Yours were always in good shape and you were good at it. I think the gate boy didn't know where to look for a better one." "Don't worry." I told her. "It's perfect."

It wasn't, of course, but at the moment I understood for the first time, all Christmas trees are perfect.

Everyone knows that exercise is important. We all need to exercise. Doctors say it is good for us. It makes your heart and body strong. Children who often exercise are more alert（灵活）. That means they do better in tests and schoolwork than those who don't exercise. 

They are many ways to exercise. You can walk, run, swim, skate, or play ball games. Make sure you exercise in the following ways: You have to like what you are doing. Exercise enough— but not too much. It's best to exercise twice a week. Thirty minutes each time is enough. Try all kinds of sports until（直到）you find one, two or even three sports that feel right for you. 

You can exercise at fitness centers. They have a lot of equipment（设备）there. The equipment will help exercise your arms, legs and other parts of your body to make you healthy. Some people buy equipment for their homes. But it's very expensive.
