I am having a good time visiting my aunt in Thailand now. She is working here. It's really a beautiful place. You can do a lot here. I like outdoor activities like {#blank#}1{#/blank#}, biking and diving (潜水). All of these are wonderful. I visit many temples (寺庙) and learn about their history. I also learn a lot about elephants here. The elephant is one of Thailand's {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. The first flag of Thailand had a white elephant on it. Elephants can play soccer or music. They can walk for a long time and never get {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. They can also remember places {#blank#}4{#/blank#} food and water. It's really cool, isn't it? I also miss my parents very much. I like Thailand and my vacation here, but there is {#blank#}5{#/blank#} "no place like home".

Sara was a little girl who loved to draw. She wanted {#blank#}1{#/blank#} （成为）a famous person in drawing one day. But sometimes, her drawings didn't turn out the way she wanted, and she felt sad. 

One day, Sara's teacher told the class about an art {#blank#}2{#/blank#} （竞赛）. Excited, Sara decided to enter. She worked hard on her drawing, but when she finished, she didn't like it very much. She felt {#blank#}3{#/blank#} （失望）.

A village soccer tournament(联赛) in Rongjiang County, southwest China's Guizhou Province has drawn people's attention. The tournament is called Cun Chao, or Village Super League.

{#blank#}1{#/blank#} May to July this year, 20 teams from Rongjiang County took part in Cun Chao. The players came from different jobs and minority ethnic groups(少数民族). 

The cheerleaders(拉拉队队员) wore {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(tradition) ethnic clothes and also performed in the soccer tournament. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(visitor) could also enjoy singing and dancing performances.

Cun Chao has {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(recent) put Rongjiang on the soccer map. In fact, the area has already had a {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(long) history of the sport than other areas. 

Soccer was introduced to Rongjiang in the 1940s and {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(become) an important part of people's lives since then. In 2021, Rongjiang was listed as one of the "model counties" for soccer development. In the past, it was hard 

{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(find) good soccer fields. 

But those conditions never stopped the locals from doing that. Whether on farms, river banks, {#blank#}8{#/blank#} rocky lands, people always found a way to enjoy

Xu Bo, the head of Rongjiang County's government, said, "We will use Cun Chao as a way to help develop {#blank#}10{#/blank#} countryside. We hope people love soccer and have a chance to realize their soccer dreams."

Miss Dinsmore lived in a little house. She bought it two years {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. She wished it looked happier, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} she decided to paint it a bright(鲜艳的) color.

Miss Dinmore went to a paint store. She saw many {#blank#}3{#/blank#} there—yellow, red, blue, green... It was hard to choose.

"I know what to do,"said Miss Dinmore at last. "I'll draw pictures of my house {#blank#}4{#/blank#} all of these colors. Then I'll choose the best one."

One day, a neighbor saw Miss Dinmore's pictures. She liked {#blank#}7{#/blank#} very much. "I'll tell others,"she said. "Everyone will want to see your pictures.

It was true. {#blank#}8{#/blank#} the neighbor told others about it, and a number of people came to see the pictures. "What a nice little house you have,"everyone said.

"It is a nice little house,"said Miss Dinsmore quietly. "But I wish it looks..."

She stopped and looked around. Her little house was {#blank#}9{#/blank#} of people looking at pictures, drinking tea, talking and laughing. They all {#blank#}10{#/blank#}a good time. "It's a nice little house," she said again. "And it's a happy little house, too—when good friends come to visit me."

My uncle Harry's birthday was coming. I hadn't seen him or his1 Carl for long, so I decided to visit both of them. However, days before, they had had a serious argument.2 recently they realized it was just a misunderstanding, both of them didn't want to say sorry first. They were still a little 3 with each other. I decided not to mention the other after seeing one of them." As time goes by, they will 4 naturally,"I thought.

One day they both wanted to stay with me to have a chat. So I decided to be with Uncle Harry during the afternoon and promised Uncle Carl I'd visit him for a 5 . I made my plan secret.

That afternoon, Uncle Harry first gave me a tour of the town. At 4:00 pm, he said,"I'm a little hungry. Let's have dinner!"6 taking no for an answer, he took me to a restaurant called Montana Mike's, which is known for its beef, burgers and pizza in town.7 I'd soon have dinner with Uncle Carl,I hoped to get by with salad. But he ordered me a lot of beef.

After dinner, we said goodbye and I 8 made my way to Uncle Carl's place. When I arrived, Uncle Carl gave 9 almost the same tour. Then, I stopped before Montana Mike's again. I hoped not to be 10 to eat much beef again and not to meet the same waitress.

11 , I saw the same friendly waitress coming towards us. She12 me doubtfully. When Uncle Carl looked at the menu, I put my finger before my mouth, using the international sign to tell her to13 . But she seemed to be more interested in who I really was.

" Haven't you just come?" the waitress asked." It might be my twin brother,"I joked cleverly. Then,I tried once again to order 14 . But Uncle Carl, like his brother, didn't agree. He also ordered some beef for me. When I went back, I felt like my stomach was about to burst(爆炸). Later, both uncles knew the truth and couldn't help laughing, which quickened their getting along. And after that, I 15 had to have two beef dinners in two hours again.

It was an extremely busy day. I was so tired of my life that I was getting a little 1 with myself and everyone around me. On my way home I met my old friend Paul in the street. He looked happy and 2 me to his home for dinner. We hadn't seen each other for many years, so I accepted his invitation 3 I was tired.
