    Today more and more children wear glasses before going to middle school. They keep their eyes watching TV or playing computer games for a long time. Eyes are the windows of our hearts (心). We use our eyes to see everything around us, so we should know how to protect our eyes.

    Love our eyes. When we open (睁开) our eyes every day, we can see the lovely friends and parents, beautiful flowers and green trees. If our eyes don't work, how can we see the world. In our eyes, everything and everywhere is dark. It's like a house with no light (光). How important our eyes are!

    Relax our eyes. First, stop to relax 30 minutes when using the computer for an hour or two. Next, remember to do eye exercises every day. Then, looking at green trees also helps a lot. In these ways, our eyes will feel relaxed.

    Have good habits. When writing homework and reading, it is important to keep a distance (距离) of 30 cm between your eyes and books. Remember to use our eyes in a right way. Don't read in bed or on a moving bus. Eat something healthy for eyes, such as carrots, fish and eggs.

    Follow my advice (建议) and get good habits. It's time to say goodbye to thick (厚的) glasses.

How do you feel when a teacher says it's time for a test? Do you get worried about it? Look at the next test skills （技巧）!

☆Go to class on time and do your homework carefully.

In this way, you will learn the lessons, such as Chinese, English, maths, and so on. You won't have so many worries.

☆Relax and go to bed on time.

After you finish your lessons in the afternoon, you need to relax in the evening and sleep well at night.

☆Get ready well.

You may take paper, a pen, pencils, an eraser, a watch, and books or a dictionary with you.

☆Read the questions carefully.

You must read the questions carefully before you answer them, or you will make mistakes.

☆Breathe （呼吸） deeply.

When you feel worried, put your pencil down on the table, close your eyes, breathe deeply and count numbers to 10. In this way, you will feel relaxed and you can do well in the test.

① Animal behavior is an interesting and attractive study. Scientists research the ways animals use to look for food. They study how animals protect themselves from their predators, and which animals kill other animals for food. All of this helps us understand how useful animals can be.

② Each country or culture raises some animals for food. In the United States, people mainly eat meat from cows, chickens and pigs. In some other countries, people might raise sheep or buffalo for meat. These differences come in part from weather and other environmental conditions (状况). People around the world eat al kinds of fish and shellfish from oceans and rivers. In some countries, people don't always choose some animal groups, such as dogs, for food while in other countries such animals may become people's favorite food.

③ In West Africa, animals provide humans with more than food. They have been helping people do daily work for thousands of years. Horses, oxen, and other work animals pull heavy things. Elephants, camels and other animals carry people and things from place to place. Carrier pigeons (信鸽) have been used to send messages.

④ People also receive health benefits (利益) from animals. For example, dogs and cats can help calm people down. This is helpful for people fighting illnesses. Animals can also reduce stress, helping people to draw their attention to learning new information, such as reading. When people are walking their dogs or horses, it encourages exercise.

⑤ Animals and humans share space on Earth, so keeping a healthy relationship with animals around us is in our best interest.

Nowadays, a new method is used to decide who are the top students in school. The best students are those who not only get high marks, but also follow the rules and the behavior standards for middle school students. Here are some of the new rules and standards. 

Tell the truth. Have you ever copied someone else's work in the exams? If you have, don't do it again! That's not something an honest student should do. If you have played online games for two hours in your room, don't tell your parents you were doing homework. 

Learn to be loving and caring. Good students love animals and care for other people. 

Learn to work together with others. It would be more fun when more people work together. Did you quarrel with your teammates when your basketball team lost? Only working together can make your team stronger. You shouldn't only think of yourself. You should also think of others. 

Be open to new ideas. Have you ever thought that people could live on the moon? Perhaps you'll discover Earth Ⅱ someday. Don't look down on new ideas. Everyone's ideas are important. You should welcome them, because new ideas make life better for everyone. 

Use the Internet carefully. The Internet can be very useful for your studies. Some websites on the Internet aren't for kids, so make sure to visit the ones that are good for you. You can use the Websites for fun or homework. Can't you find any good websites for you? 

It's important for us to keep healthy. Li Ming gives us a good example. Meals was the time when family members got together. But now fast food and quick meals are threatening(威胁) such family get-togethers. Facing such a situation (情况), Li Ming has a good idea. Though his parents often go to work at night, he also eats the healthiest food. He learns to cook himself.

He takes exercise in the morning. He likes sports such as swimming, running and playing basketball. He goes to bed at ten in the evening and gets up at six in the morning. He can take care of himself. He takes a bath every day and washes his hands before meals. When he has meals, he eats all kinds of healthy food such as fish, eggs, vegetables and meat. He also eats much fruits. So he looks strong. Do you want to be a person like him?
