What do we do when we go camping? First, we work out a plan. We take food, clothing, a knife and things for cooking and eating. We take things to keep us away from insects and the sunlight. 

Then we put everything into the car and drive to the woods (树林). We look for a place for campers and look for a good place for our tent. The place should have a lot of moving air. This will keep some insects away. High land with water on both sides of it is good. Then we put up our tent. We put everything into the tent, and we are ready for fun. We can do many things. We can swim in the lake, walk in the woods, climb a mountain, row a boat or go fishing. 

In the evening, we come back to the tent. We build a big fire because it can keep the insects away. We sit around the fire and talk. We may tell interesting stories or we may sing songs. At night we lie down on the grass. We can look up at the stars. It is a busy day, so we try to go to sleep early. Everything is dark. Everything is quiet. We hope we won't hear music from the radio in the next tent. We hope it won't rain. 

Many people connect gratitude(感谢) with saying "thank you" to someone who helped us, making it a short act of appreciation. According to Robert Emmons, a leading researcher, gratitude is an emotion that can result in long-lasting positivity(积极性). {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

Gratitude is good for your health.

Through his research, Emmons found that grateful people reported feeling healthier and happier, both mentally and physically. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} In the workplace, employees who are shown that they are appreciated are healthier and more productive by 50 percent.

Gratitude is a selfless act. We often take for granted the simple things in life. Those who recognize the goodness in life, no matter how simple, are more likely to be sensitive to the needs of others and to help whenever they can. Being considerate to others' opinions, experiences and backgrounds will make you a better person.

Working in an ever-developing, fast-paced society, we are surrounded by ambitious people who are always struggling for more and better. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} It starts by paying attention to what's now going on in your life, and that's true self-awareness is the key to being successful.

The train started moving. It was packed with people of all ages. Most of them were working men and women and young college boys and girls. Near the window sat an old man with his son, who looked about thirty years old. 

As the train moved, the son was filled with joy because he was very excited at the scenery(景色) outside. He said in a high voice, " See Dad, the green trees and the scenery are very beautiful!" It made the other people feel very strange. Everyone started talking in a low voice about the old man's son. Suddenly, it started raining. Raindrops fell on the travelers through the opened window. 

Seeing the rain, the old man's son said happily, " See Dad, how beautiful the rain is!" Hearing these words, a young lady became angry with the man, as the raindrops were dropping on her new clothes. She couldn't help shouting at the noisy son and his father. 

" Can't you see it is raining? You ! Old man! If your son is not feeling well, get him to a mental hospital (精神病院) quickly and please don't disturb(干扰) us any more!" The old man's face turned slightly red and then in a low voice, he replied, " We are on the way back from hospital. He was blind at birth. Only last week he can see again. The rain and the nature are new to him. Please forgive him. " All the other people became quiet. 

We can do many interesting chemical tests in our class. Today, we will use CO2 to blow up a balloon! Mixing baking soda(小苏打) with vinegar(醋) together can give off the CO2

What you'll need

1)A balloon       2)About 40 ml of water         3)A soft drink bottle      4)Vinegar

Instructions

●Before you begin, make sure that you pull the balloon long to make it as easy as possible to blow up. 

●Put the 40 ml of water into the soft drink bottle. 

●Add the baking soda and mix it with water. 

●Put the vinegar in and quickly put the balloon over the mouth of the bottle. 

What's happening?

If all goes well then the balloon should become bigger and bigger! Adding the vinegar to the baking soda creates a chemical effect. The baking soda is a base(碱), while the vinegar is an acid(酸). When the two are mixed, they'll create CO2. The gas rises up and runs away through the soft drink bottle. However, it doesn't get away from the balloon, pushing it outwards and blowing it up. 

 Many students have already had clear ideas about what jobs they would like to have in the future. We believe boys' choices are different from girls'. To find out how different their choices are, we made a survey in Green High School. The following diagram shows the results of the survey.
