Most of us spend all day at school or work. After a long and busy day, all we want to do is to return to a comfortable home. Smart technology can turn any home into a nicer place to live in.

Smart homes have been around for some time. A company called Pico Electronics invented a type of technology called X10 in 1975. As the curliest smart home technology, it allows household devices (家用设备)，such as lights and alarms, to communicate with each other by using radio waves.

Of course, 5G network connectivity has made smart homes much more complicated (复杂的) than X10. Perhaps the most popular smart home technology is the voice-activated assistant. Users are allowed to communicate with almost any device in their homes simply by speaking a few words. This is especially convenient for children and people with disabilities, as the devices can help them finish tasks that would normally be too difficult.

Common household devices can become "smart as well. For example, smart fridges can create dinner recipes with the vegetables that are being kept inside.

But smart homes are not just about convenience. They are also good for the environment. By regularly checking your energy use and automatically (自动地) turning off lights and other devices that you' re using, smart homes can lower much electricity you use. Using less energy means that we use fewer natural resources (自然资源)，which is good for the environment.

 All over the world, people love to eat pizza. In Japan, some people like seafood on their pizza. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} People in India enjoy tofu on their pizza. In Brazil, you can even have a chocolate pizza!

 The history of pizza can go back to the 1700s. Some Italian cooks(厨师) started selling the flat breads in the streets. The breads were called pizzas. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}

 Later in 1889, Italy's queen visited Naples, a big city in Italy. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} He put tomatoes, cheese and basil on it. It was red, white, and green, like the flag of Italy. The queen enjoyed the pizza very much and pizzas became more popular in Italy.

 In the late 1800s, some people moved from Italy to the US. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} Italians cooked and sold pizzas in their new homes. Pizza became popular in the US because people could eat it quickly and it was cheap.

The Big Stone River is one of the most amazing stone rivers in the world. 

The Big Stone River is the most interesting sight（景象）of Taganai Park in Russia. Different from other rivers, it is filled with rocks and stones. Not a drop of water can be seen. Interestingly, as one comes near to the rocky river, the sound of running water can be hear rocks fell down from the mountains slowly and made the river of rocks. 

The Big Stone River is about 6 km long and is made up of many small rocky rivers. It cuts through a thick forest like a real river. It is about 200 meters wide and in some places, it is up to 700 meters wide. Some of the rocks weigh up to 10 tons each and the layer（层）of rocks goes down 6 meters deep. 

Scientists believe it is the consequence of the movement of glaciers（冰川）about 10,000 years ago. At that time, ice covered the top of the mountains. As time went by, the ice turned into water. The Seeing the amazing river is a great experience. The best way to experience this natural wonder is from above. Come and visit it when you come to Russia. 

I was on a train in Switzerland. The train came to a stop and a man said something, but I didn't know the language. Everyone started to get out of the train. An old woman saw me still sitting there. She could speak a little English and told me what the man said. She asked me where I was going. Then she talked with some other people, then came back, and told me that we had to take other trains to get there.

I was really lucky to meet the old woman. because I knew I couldn't take the right train by myself. Then we went from one train station to the next. The old woman was really kind. When we got to the last station, we left and said goodbye. Luckily, I got on my train to Rome in time. The old woman told me she also had to catch another train. I found that she needed to spend two hours going back home.

I was moved(感动) that day. An old woman spent so much time on trains just to help out a stranger.
