This was an English park. Was this an English summer? I was shaking with cold! It didn't seem warm enough. Perhaps I should explain. I'm from Brisbane in Australia. But today I was visiting my family in England. And they were taking me out to enjoy London.

"What a fine, bright day!" my Aunt Jess said happily. I nodded and smiled politely. In England it's not polite to disagree, especially about the weather. But inside I was thinking: It looks awful. Brisbane's winter is warmer than England's summer!

It was sunny at first. But, as our picnic went on, it turned darker. Storm clouds suddenly covered the sky. British people often describe their weather as "four seasons in one day". But for me, one season was missing from that day: summer!

Aunt Jess said," When I was young, the summers were much longer and sunnier. I don't remember a single bad summer's day in the 60 seconds!" Weather records show that she was wrong. But again I did not disagree. My cousin Jane said, "Maybe we will have a white Christmas this year." That would be wonderful , but I doubted （怀疑） it. After all, it has only snowed at Christmas five times in the last fifty years.

Suddenly it turned windy. A heavy rain began to fall. We ran to hide from the rain. But my "summer" dress still got very wet. As I watched the rain beating down, I began to daydream. I dreamed about long, hot summer days in Brisbane.

"Well," said Aunt Jess, "We had a few good hours. And at least, the weather gives us something to talk about…"I smiled politely once more, but had a secret thought. Yes, let's talk about my English relatives moving to Australia!

"Can I watch TV this evening?" Leo asked. "No. We have to watch your brother Victor's soccer game," Mum said and got her car keys.

"Must I go?" Leo didn't want to go. He wanted to watch TV and played computer games in his room.

"Sorry, but this is Victor's first soccer game in the school team. Come on and take your jacket. It's cold outside." Mum said. Leo didn't say anything in the car. He was not happy.

After they got to the field, Leo said, "Mum, I don't want to watch the second half. This isn't interesting for me." "But Victor always says you can give him good luck. He likes having you here," Mum said. Leo thought about it and he found that supporting his brother is the right thing to do. "Come on, Victor!" Leo shouted. Victor scored. Soon the game was over.

"Hey!" Victor gave Leo a high five. "I played well, right?"

"You are great," Leo said, "I want to watch your next game."

March Fair of Bai People

The March Fair is the most important festival for the Bai people living in Dali, Yunnan. It starts from the 15th day of the 3rd lunar month and lasts about 7 days. During the festival, people in and around Dali come together for trade. What's more, they race horses, dance to and sing traditional songs. 

Torch Festival of Yi People

In Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan, Yi people celebrate the Torch(火把)Festival. It usually takes place from the 24th to the 26th day of the 6th lunar month every year. As part of the festival, every family needs to light a torch. The idea is that these torches will drive away bad luck. In the center of town, there is always a bonfire(篝火), People of all ages sing and dance around it. 

Water Festival of Dai People

The Water Festival is the New Year for the Dai people living in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan. It lasts 3 days in April. During the festival, Dai people wear their festival suits to dance and throw water at each other (they believe it could bring happiness and good luck). The wetter you get, the luckier you will be.

Yang Zhen was an honest and clean（廉洁的） government officer during the Eastern Han Dynasty. 

One day, Yang met his old workmate Wang Mi on a trip. They had fun talking about their life experiences and good wishes for the nation. In the past, Wang's ability and political ideas were not accepted by the people around him. At that time, Yang saw Wang's talent and promoted（提拔）him. 

The chance helped Wang to be successful. Wang never forgot Yang's help and invited him to stay over for the night. 

It was near midnight when Wang knocked on the door of Yang's bedroom. He handed Yang a bag and said, "This is to thank you for teaching me and helping me become who I am today. "Yang looked at the bag. It was full of gold. "Do I look like a person who takes presents from others? I thought you knew me well! "Yang said angrily. 

"It's late now. No one will know if we keep it a secret. "said Wang. "What do you mean no one will know? Heaven（天） knows! Earth knows! You know and I know! "said Yang. "You can lie to anyone but not your own heart. " The door was closed and Wang left the room in shame.
