"Sunrise gold" is a color that means a lot to me. The color mixes gold with a bit of red and yellow. I like it because it gives me peace, energy and hope in the face of difficulty.

When I was in the eighth grade, I took part in a speech competition. Although I made all my efforts, I didn't win. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} I had trouble falling asleep that night. It was 3:30 in the morning, and there was nothing but me and my unhappy heart. I got up and went upstairs to the roof (屋顶) top to clear my mind.

{#blank#}2{#/blank#} At first, it was orange and red, but after a short while, the sun awoke from its sleep and painted the sky with its gold colour. The sunlight shone on everything—trees, roofs and streets. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} The rays of light woke up the gentle morning wind and sent it moving across the field, touching my face and everything gently. It also woke up the early birds, which were singing happily.

There and then I realized that past is history, no matter how much we regret it. I thought to myself, "Maybe I can start once more, just like the dawn(黎明)." {#blank#}4{#/blank#}

Now, whenever I face difficulties, I remember what the "sunrise gold" made me understand that morning.

A. So I never doubted I could deal with it.

B. I tried to remember all of what I heard.

C. The failure hit me hard and made me feel painful.

D. I went downstairs, feeling energetic and hopeful.

E. I stayed there until a ray of light appeared in the sky.

F. I felt its warmth flow through my body and into my heart.

My friend Bobby worked in a restaurant two years ago and he didn't make much money. He had a big family to support(养), so they could only spend money on very essential（必要的）things {#blank#}1{#/blank#} food, clothes and houses. But last summer vacation, Bobby wanted to take his kids to watch a very popular show in the theater（剧院）, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} kids these days always talked about it. He knew his kids wanted to see it very much, too. 

When they arrived at the theater, Bobby walked up to the woman at the ticket counter （售票柜台）and asked, "How {#blank#}3{#/blank#} is it to get in?"

The woman said, "6 dollars for you and 3 dollars for the kids aged between 7 and 13 years old. We let them in for free if they are 6 or younger. How old are your kids?"

Bobby looked at his sons and answered, "This one is 3 years old and his big brother is 7 years old, so I think I need to {#blank#}4{#/blank#} 9 dollars for you." 

The woman looked surprised and said, "Hey, did you just win a lottery （中奖） or something? I don't know how old your kids are. You can just say that one is 3 and the o{#blank#}5{#/blank#}is 6. After all, I can't see the {#blank#}6{#/blank#} between 6-year-olds and 7-year-olds, and you can save 3 dollars."

Bobby said, "Yes, I can tell you that they are both under the age of 6, but the kids know that they are not the {#blank#}7{#/blank#} age as I told you. As their father, it's my job to set a good example （榜样）for them. In that {#blank#}8{#/blank#}, they can grow up to be a good and honest (诚实的) person. 

Then, Bobby took his two boys by the hand and they spent a wonderful afternoon.

Many parents want their children to be famous. But do children have {#blank#}1{#/blank#} same dream?

A new play Hi, Ke'ai is on at Beijing Children's Art Theatre. It {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(tell) the story of a boy called Ke'ai. His parents want him to become a painter or a {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(music) one day. They teach him to paint and to play the violin,{#blank#}4{#/blank#} Ke'ai doesn't enjoy these activities. Then one day, Ke'ai's parents see a player win a gold medal(奖牌) at the Olympic Games, and they would like him{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (become) a sportsman. 

"Why do they want me to be someone else?" Ke'ai asks. "I only want to be {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(I)."

The play shows us that it is necessary (必要的){#blank#}7{#/blank#} parents to learn to understand their children. Young audiences (观众){#blank#}8{#/blank#}(real) enjoy the story and also love the music in the play. There are two songs in the play. One of them, Ke'ai's Song, is much {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(easy) to learn, so the audiences can sing the song on their way home after the play! In a word,{#blank#}10{#/blank#} an excellent play it is! It is worth (值得) watching. 

When we see a stranger in trouble, we have two choices. Some people are willing to give a hand, while others may 1 to take no notice. If I were in this situation, I would help the stranger without 2 .

 Some people may think it isn't wise to do this. We have all heard stories about people who are blackmailed(敲诈) after 3 help to a stranger. But on the other hand, helping others is an action to share 4 . There is a saying: Give roses to others and the lasting fragrance will remain in your hand. Indeed, helping others can allow us to help 5 . Any of us could end up in a situation where we need help from our family, friends or even strangers.

④Internet(互联网) friends are one of them. Do you like making friends on the Internet? It is popular today. That's because more and more people think it is an easy way to make friends. Another kind of special friends is penfriends. Making penfriends is a good way to know people in different places of the world.

⑤Friends are special and important people in our lives. We can live a happy life with friends.
