I'm Linda. Today I want to say the seasons(季节). It's warm in spring. The trees are green and the flowers are beautiful. I often take a walk with my brother in the park. In summer, the weather is very hot and it often rains. I often go swimming with my friends. In autumn, the days get shorter and the nights get longer. It's often sunny, but not too hot. I like winter best. In winter, it often snows, it's beautiful. I often make a snowman with my parents，we are happy. 

One day, on their way home. Tom asked his mother, "Mum, why can't we see the stars in the sky {#blank#}1{#/blank#} now?" Mum said, "It's because we have too much air pollution." "What can we do now?" asked Tom. "Let me see. Well, we can {#blank#}2{#/blank#} more trees. And we can go to other places on foot or by bike. Please don't always go out by car or by bus. It's not good for our air."said Mum. The next day, Tom went to plant trees with his classmates. They were very tired. But they were very {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. Tom asked her mother to {#blank#}4{#/blank#} a bike for him. Tom and his friends all wanted to ride bikes. They will ride bikes to school together every morning. They want to see a lot of stars In the sky at night.

The giant pandas live high in the forest in the middle of China. There are large black patches（斑） around their eyes, over the ears and across their round bodies. Pandas need to eat a lot of bamboo. The spend about 12 to 16 hours a day eating their favourite food. Sometimes, pandas eat fruit or meat, but they only spent little time on them. 

Pandas are the national treasure（国宝） of China! People from all over the world love them. In the past, there were lots of pandas. Today, there are more than one thousand eight hundred pandas in the wild. So we need to do all in our hands to protect them. 

Jim is a student. He lives far from his school. He gets up very early in the morning. 

He goes to the subway station（车站） by bike. It takes him about ten minutes（分钟） . Then he takes the subway to the station near his school. Usually he stays on the subway for thirty minutes. He often reads books on the subway. After ten minutes' walk, he gets to his school. Every day it takes（花费） Jim a lot of time to go to school. But he thinks it's good exercise and he enjoys his time on the way to school.

I often go to the hills with my friends on sunny weekends. There is a small {#blank#}1{#/blank#}between the hills. There are some {#blank#}2{#/blank#}  on the river. Beside the river, there is a small {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. On warm days, we often sit under the {#blank#}4{#/blank#}  and see pretty birds {#blank#}5{#/blank#}  our head. We often have {#blank#}6{#/blank#} , hamburgers or bread for lunch. On {#blank#}7{#/blank#}  days, we go boating and have lunch on the boat. We like the fish very much, because they're from the river. They are fresh and delicious but expensive.

Everyone has his or her own birthday. People in different countries celebrate their birthdays in different ways. Now here are four people from different countries. They will tell us how they celebrate their birthdays in their countries.

Sandy comes from Madrid(马德里). She says happily, "My 21st birthday is on Saturday, and I'm going to go out with some friends. To wish me a happy birthday, they are going to pull on my ear 21 times, once for each year. It's an old custom. Some people pull on the ear just once, but my friends are very traditional."

 Mr. and Mrs. Sato are from Tokyo. Mr. Sato is going to be 60 tomorrow. In Japan, the sixtieth birthday is called Kanreki(花甲)— it's the beginning of a new life. The color red is for a new life, so we always give something red for a sixtieth birthday.

Liu Mei from Beijing feels very excited and tells us, "Tomorrow is my 16th birthday. It's a special birthday, so we' re going to have a family party. Maybe I will get some lucky money from my relatives. My mother is going to cook noodles for a long life."

Phillip, from Paris, smiles to us, "I'm going to be thirty next week, so I'm going to invite three very good friends out for dinner. In France, when you have a birthday, you often invite people out."
