Your inner voice is always with you. You may notice it when you make a mistake or when you try something new. Your inner voice has different tones. Sometimes it sounds kind but at other times it may sound scary. Whatever it sounds, we should treat it with kindness.
How does the inner voice influence you? If you keep telling yourself you're not good at making friends or you're not creative, over time you'll believe your inner voice is true. When you talk to yourself using a sentence like "I have to clean my room.", it makes the task harder. Instead, if you say, "I choose to clean my room, and then I'll feel comfortable and find my things easily." It's more positive (积极的). You're telling yourself how you'll benefit (受益) from cleaning your room.
But how to treat your inner voice? Trying to be friends with your inner voice can give you more energy. For example, when you make a mistake, you may feel afraid. You think you may be criticized (批评). But you should tell yourself it's OK to get something wrong. You can learn from the mistakes and try to avoid making the same mistakes next time.
When you do something that makes you feel nervous,encourage yourself to go ahead bravely. If you are not sure what to say, imagine you're talking to your best friends and trying to support and help them.
