It's hard to turn down junk food. However, eating too much junk food {#blank#}1{#/blank#} harmful to your body. "For young people aged {#blank#}2{#/blank#} 10 and 19, junk food has a bad influence on their abilities of thinking, learning and memorizing, "said Amy Reichelt, a brain expert. 

Reichelt reviewed over 100 studies about how poor food choices can influence teen brains. She discovered that teenagers who had a high-fat diet performed worse on memory tests {#blank#}3{#/blank#} those who ate a normal diet. 

She also found teenagers were more interested {#blank#}4{#/blank#} foods with a lot of fat and sugar. The prefrontal cortex(前额皮质)of the brain is the part. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} helps us develop the ability to control ourselves. However, this part doesn't fully develop  {#blank#}6{#/blank#} we are in our early 20s.

So, what's the best way to say no to junk food? Researchers advise people to  {#blank#}9{#/blank#}. That is because when we exercise, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} brains grow and become better able to make smart decisions. 

Every week, Wu Lin, a 19-year-old college student, will wait at a store selling food nearing its expiration date (保质期) , and return to school with a bag of snacks. "These products are usually sold at 30% to 50% off and many of them are from big brands. I'm really a big fan of them," she said.

Wu is among a growing number of young Chinese who buy near-expired food. According to a report by iiMedia Research, China's near-expired food market went beyond 30 billion yuan in 2020 and 47.8 percent of the consumers were aged 26 to 35.

Unlike the traditional thought that buying such food is penny-pinching（吝啬的） or embarrassing, more and more young people like Wu regard it as a way to help reduce food waste. "I don't care much about the date, as long as I can eat them before their expiration dates. It meets my needs while saving resources and protecting the environment, which is a good thing," says Wu.

Physical stores (实体店) selling near-expired food have sprung up (突然兴起) in cities across China. HotMaxx, a chain store that opened in 2020 in major Chinese cities, has increased to more than 200 in number across the country. Online shops selling such food are growing rapidly, too. On Taobao, around 2.1 million people buy near-expired food every year.

From a food safety standpoint（观点）, which may concern many consumers, experts believe that such products won't do any harm. "Near-expired food is safe and buying these products is a good practice to help prevent waste of resources, which should be encouraged," says Zhou Yu, a professor of food nutrition (营养) and safety at Anhui Agricultural University.

Everyone likes festivals, because they mean a break from work. However, for some people, they mean {#blank#}1{#/blank#} work. Danny is a doctor in the hospital. He  {#blank#}2{#/blank#} many meals with his family because he is often called to the hospital suddenly. He is thankful for his {#blank#}3{#/blank#} support. He says,"I am just one of millions of {#blank#}4{#/blank#} in the world. "There are many people devoting(贡献) themselves to making our life a lot {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. We should thank all of them. 

Xiajiang Village is in Chun'an County (县), Zhejiang and has a population of about 800. It takes about 3 hours to drive from Hangzhou to get to the small village. It is famous for its beautiful views. Many tourists like to spend their holidays here. 

The village has a history of over 800 years. The first people here were from Sichuan during the Northern Song Dynasty. From then on, they have called the village home. 

It has beautiful views, but the village is far from big cities. So few people knew about it in the past. One part of the famous movie My People My Homeland was made here in 2020. The successful movie has brought a lot of tourists here from then on. 

Tourists like the green mountains, fresh air and clean water here. Everywhere in the village, you can notice green grass, red flowers and nice trees. There are also many things for tourists to do here. They can learn to make zongzi, visit farmers' houses and learn some farming work. At night, they can live in bed-and-breakfast places. The village was named in the list (名单) of Best Tourism (旅游) Villages in 2023. 

It is never very hot in summer or very cold in winter. So come and see the beautiful village at any time of the year.
