I still remember my first Christmas adventure(冒险) with Grandma. As we walked into a store, Grandma gave me ten dollars. That was 1 money in those days. “Take the money,” she said, “and buy   2 for someone who needs it. I'll wait for you in the 3.” Then she walked out of the store.

    I was only eight years old then. I had often gone shopping with my mother, but I had 4shopped for anything alone. I didn't know what 5 or who to buy it for.

    I 6 everybody I knew. Finally, I had an idea. I would buy Bobby a 7! He needed one. I knew that 8 he never went out during the winter. His mother always 9a note, telling the teacher that he was ill, but all we kids knew that was not 10.

    I chose a red coat. It looked really 11.

    When I returned to Grandma's car, she helped me write a note “To Bobby,  12 Father Christmas''. Then she drove me over to Bobby's house.

    Some time later, Grandma 13her car near Bobby's house. We got off and hid in the bushes(灌木). Then Grandma said to me, “All right, Father Christmas, get going.”

    I ran to Bobby's front door, put the 14 down, rang his doorbell and flew back to Grandma. Together we waited for the front door 15 …

    That night, I realized that Father Christmas was alive(活着), and we were on his team. I felt so happy.

    One hot afternoon, a poor farmer was digging his field. Suddenly, his spade (铲) hit something. It was a big metal1which was big enough to boil rice for more than one hundred people. "It does not seem to be of any use to me. I will dig2. Maybe I will find something else," thought the farmer. He3to dig.

    Feeling tired, he threw the spade into the pot and sat under a tree to4. When he got up to leave, he could not5his eyes. There were one hundred spades in the pot. What a6pot!

    After that, he put a7into the pot. Then he found one hundred mangoes in the pot.8 that pot, he became a rich man. The King came to know of the pot,9he was very greedy (贪婪的). “I want to find out the10of the magical pot. If it is valuable, it should be11, " the King thought. So, at once, he ordered his men to bring the farmer and his pot.

    The King12the pot and did not know what to do. He thought, "Let me see what is inside this pot that makes this pot so magical?" He slipped (滑) and13inside the pot. After climbing up out of the magical pot, he was14to find that there were one hundred Kings.

    All the Kings then15among themselves and died. This magical pot has killed the King himself!

    It was a Sunday afternoon, a girl was unhappy. She complained to her father about her hard life. There were so many problems! One problem wasn't solved but1came. She wanted to give up.

    Her father smiled and took his daughter into the2.He filled three 3with water. And he put some carrots in the first one. In the second one, he put some eggs. Coffee was put in the third one. Then he boiled them. The girl watched her father. Her father just waited4saying a word.

    The girl wondered5her father was doing that for. About 20 minutes later, her father 6the carrots and put them into a bowl. The eggs were put on a plate and the coffee was poured into a cup. Turning back to his daughter7, Dad asked, "What do you see? ""Carrots, and coffee.” she answered

    Her father told her to close her eyes and let her touch the carrots. She did and felt the carrots were soft. After that he asked his daughter to take the eggs and feel them. The eggs were hard. At last, her father asked her to taste the coffee. “What's the meaning, Dad?” He explained that8of the things had met with the same unlucky experience—the boiling water, but the three things had 9results.

    The strong and hard carrots became soft and weak after they were put into the boiling water. The eggs became hard after being cooked. The coffee was very special and it 10 the water. "Which one will you choose to be, a carrot, an egg or coffee? That's up to you to decide. "said her father.

    It was a sunny Sunday afternoon. John's parents were not in. John decided to go to the Happy Theater to watch a talent show, so he 1 home. Only Barky, John's pet 2 stayed at home. Just after John left, a bad man 3 the window, and then he came into the house 4 it. He began looking for expensive things in the rooms. He found some 5 in the box. He took out the money, 6 as he was leaving, he heard a dog's barking(叫声). He looked around and found Barky looking at him angrily. He was very scared. Barky was going to bite him when John came home. John let Barky sit down and told the bad man 7," Come with me to the 8, or Barky will bite you!" So the bad man had to 9 John with Barky close behind. A policeman cuffed(铐) the bad man after John told him the thing. Barky had a 10 for watching the house. But the bad man didn't know.
