A school teacher decided to let her class play a game. The teacher told each child in the class to bring along a plastic bag containing a few1. Each tomato will be given a name of a person that the child2, so the number of tomatoes that a child will put in the plastic hag will depend on the number of people the child hates.

    So when the day came, every3brought some tomatoes. Some had two; some three while some up to five tomatoes. The teacher then told the children to4with them the tomatoes in the plastic5wherever they go.

    Days after days passed by, and the children started to complain due to the6smell let out by the rotten tomatoes. Besides, those having more tomatoes had to carry7bags. After 1 week, the children were relieved because the game had finally ended.

    The teacher asked, "How did you8while carrying the tomatoes with you for 19?"

    The children let out their frustrations and started10of the trouble that they had to go through having to carry the heavy and11tomatoes wherever they go.

    Then the teacher told them the hidden meaning behind the12.

"This is exactly the13when you carry your hatred(憎恨) for somebody inside your heart. The unpleasant smell of hatred will pollute your14and you will carry it with you wherever you go. If you cannot tolerate the smell of rotten tomatoes for just 1 week, can you imagine what is it like to have the smell of hatred in your heart for your lifetime?"

    My dad was a fisherman(渔夫), and he loved the sea. He had a 1 , but it was not always 2 to make a living on the sea. He stayed out late 3 he wanted to catch enough fish for the family.

    It wasn't long after that when my dad went to the sea for fish but he never 14. I was so sad that I wanted one more15 from my father.

Little river ran down from a high mountain through many villages and forests. Then it reached a desert. "I went through so many difficulties. I should have no problem crossing the desert," she thought. As she started, she found herself slowly disappearing into the sand. After many tries, she still failed.

"Maybe I can't reach the ocean." she said sadly to herself.

At this time, a deep voice said, "If a breeze (微风) can cross the desert, so can a river." It was the voice of the desert. But the little river answered, "That's because a breeze can fly, but I cannot."

"That's because you can't give up what you are. Let yourself evaporate (蒸发) into the breeze, and it can take you across." said the desert. "Give up what I am now? No! No!" The little river could not accept this idea. "The breeze can carry the vapor (水蒸气) across the desert and let it leave as rain. The rain will form a river again," said the desert. "And whether you're a river or vapor, your nature never changes." Hearing this, the little river went into the open arms of the breeze. It carried her to the next stage of her life.

The course of our lives is like the experience of the little river. If you want to go through difficulties in your life to head for success, you should also change the way you are.

At the 17th Paralympic Games(残奥会) in Paris, Liu Yu, a 35- year- old disabled swimmer, was1 after winning the third place in the women's backstroke 50m(女子50米仰泳).

Liu was born with illness and couldn'2 . She had to use a wheelchair and stayed in a children's hospital.3 , the elder kids in the hospital cared for this young girl. Like her 4 , they taught her to be strong.

At the age of 15, Liu had the chance to learn how to swim and showed her talent in the pool." I loved the feelings of 5 and was not scared at all. It was so wonderful to move 6 without having to use legs."

It was sunny last Sunday. I called my classmates and {#blank#}1{#/blank#} a bicycle to a farm near a bill A farmer welcomed {#blank#}2{#/blank#} in front of his house. The farm was so beautiful. We saw hens, ducks and pigs there. We {#blank#}3{#/blank#} like birds out of the cage(笼子), running around happily. We did many wonderful activities around the farmhouse. Sally tried {#blank#}4{#/blank#} Some apples from a tree. I got to the top of the hill and {#blank#}5{#/blank#} quite a few photos. Tony seemed to {#blank#}6{#/blank#} no interest in these activities. He sat {#blank#}7{#/blank#}a big tree and relaxed. At twelve o' clock, most of us were {#blank#}8{#/blank#}. The farmer prepared(准备) some delicious food for us. Of course, we must pay for it, {#blank#}9{#/blank#} we still thanked him. To remember what we did, I wrote down some {#blank#}10{#/blank#} between the life in the city and that on the farm in my diary.

All in all, it was a wonderful day!

Do you have any dreams? What would you like to be in the future? Some of you might dream of taking positions as a singer or a writer. Some might try to be a doctor or a scientist. However, Zara Rutherford, a student in Brussels, has a great ambition (抱负 ). She wants to become the world's youngest woman to fly around the world alone.

Rutherford's parents are both pilots. Under their influence, the girl fell in love with flying at a young age. She has been learning to fly since she was 14 years old. She got her first flying license in 2020, when she was 17 years.

Rutherford set off from her home city on Aug.18,2021 and finished her flight on Jan.20,2022. She covered 41 different countries on five continents, flying through wildfires, typhoons and dangerous low temperatures to reach her destination(目的地). She not only realized her dream but also made history. During her flight, the young woman met with some of the local girls. She says few pilots in the world are women. She feels sad about this. She wants to encourage more girls to learn flying and love it.

By flying alone around the world, Rutherford wants to set a good example for other girls. Once, she told them, "If you have a dream or a plan, you should go for it. If you don't try, you' ll never know how high you can fly."
