Every Saturday evening, many people come to an open square in a small town in Xi' an. They want to watch Chen Kun and his friends put on a play. During the play, the audience （观众） can hear them, but they can not see them. That is because they are putting on a shadow puppet play （皮影戏）.

Shadow puppets are made of hard leather （皮革）. The leather is cut out in the shape of a person, an animal or an object. Each puppet is painted in bright colours and put on a stick. Some puppets have movable arms and legs.

During a shadow puppet play, Chen stands behind a white screen with lights behind it. The audience sit in front of the screen. Chen and his friends hold the puppets very close to the screen so the audience can see the puppets' shadows clearly. Then they move the puppets around and do the voices of the different characters.

Shadow puppet plays are a traditional Chinese art. Now with TV and films, shadow puppet plays are not as popular as before. To encourage more young people to learn the skills of shadow puppet plays, Chen provides training courses for students to teach them how to make shadow puppets.

Chen and his friends often work very hard for little money, but they do not mind. They want to keep this traditional art form alive.

School life is often happy and exciting. How can we keep those good memories (回忆)? Most high schools in the United States have a yearbook. The yearbook comes out once a year. It is a "book of memories" for students.

Inside a yearbook there is each student's photo. The fourth-year students are finishing school soon, and their photos appear first. Next are the third-year students. Next come the second-year students. The last photos are the first year students. The yearbook is not only about students, but the teachers' photos are also in it.

The yearbook also has photos and descriptions of sports teams, school subjects, and extracurricular activities. These are activities students do after school such as the chess club and Chinese club. There is even the yearbook club. Students in this club write and take photos all year for the yearbook. At the end of the year, the book comes out.

In the yearbook, some students get special titles (头衔). For example, the students choose the "class clown"—a funny student, the "most likely to succeed"—a student everyone thinks will be successful, and the "best dressed"—a student with a good fashion sense.

Students write in each other's yearbooks. This is very important to the fourth-year students because they are saying goodbye to each other. Students write something like "We had a lot of fun." and "I'll never forget you." They also write about all the fun they shared in school together.

Hello，I'm Tim.I went to Shanghai with my friend Jack last year.We went there in April.We thought it was the best time to go there.The weather was quite good and there were not too many people at that time.

We stayed there for a week.We stayed in a nice hotel on Nanjing Road.Nanjing Road was a busy shopping street of Shanghai and it was quite famous ． We went shopping there.And we spent too much money on expensive things.We also visited many other famous places，such as the Bund of Shanghai and Chongming Island.We liked Yu Garden best.It was a beautiful garden.We took a walk in the garden.We saw many trees and beautiful flowers there.Shanghai food tasted really good.Everything was excellent. We enjoyed the trip to Shanghai so much that we decided to go there again.

The last Eurasian lynx (猞猁) in the British Isles lived a life of danger as it moved quickly to avoid campfires and vicious dogs, and hid in holes. Because of disappearing woodlands, being short of animals for food, and hunting, lynx started to disappear from these islands about 1, 500 years ago. But experts hope to one day bring the Eurasian lynx back to Scotland. 

Wildlife conservationists (环保主义者) in Switzerland, Germany, France, and other countries have taken Eurasian lynx from elsewhere in their areas and introduced them again to protected forests, allowing their populations to grow. Now they' re hoping to do the same thing in Scotland. Returning the cats would do more than just improve the numbers of this once- endangered animal. A win for the lynx is a win for the forest- and the planet. 

When the Eurasian lynx disappeared, so did the Scottish landscape. Without these cats and other animals hunting them, deer populations increased a lot. Those animals lived on the leaves of trees and bushes for food, and soon large areas of the Scottish forest disappeared since it couldn't grow fast enough to keep up with the deer's wish for food. Birds and rodents (啮齿动物) that depended on shelter (庇护所) in the lower level of forest plants became food for foxes, which lynx also hunt. 

Experts trying to restore the forests have to put up fences to keep deer from eating leaves of young trees. But with lynx hanging out in the woods, experts think these cats would keep the deer from harming the young trees, helping the forests make a comeback. 

And that would have even bigger influences. The Earth is losing woodlands as people cut down trees to make room for farming, and to sell the wood for products like furniture and toilet paper. In 2020 alone, the Earth lost as many trees as would cover an area larger than Michigan. 

So restoring forests in places like Scotland can help provide more space for wildlife and even fight climate change. That's because trees take in carbon dioxide, which takes in the sun's heat and warms our planet. 

The greatest feeling in the world comes not from receiving gifts or getting good grades in the exams. It starts when you do something for others. You feel it when you drive for an hour to a hospital to meet the sick children. And you feel it when you sit down to comfort（安慰） your friend after her mother died. 

My friend took me to a Youth Group meeting in his school. Then they invited me to join in feeding the homeless. Early that Saturday morning，a group of 15 teenagers began making sandwiches，washing fruit，and counting bags of cookies. For the first time in my life I realized that we，the teens of America，could make a difference. It made me join the Youth Group. 

I work at a coffee shop. It's not the best job，but sometimes it's worth（值得） it. One day，the store was empty and I was bored. I cooking out of the window，I noticed an old man sitting outside. He never came in to buy anything because he didn't have any money. I took a cup of coffee，walked outside，and handed it to him. The smile on his face made my day ， and as I walked back into the store. I paid for the coffee myself. Then I knew how the members of the Youth Group feel every time they help someone. Knowing that you can help others is great. 

Yesterday, Mary didn't feel well. She had a sore throat and a runny nose. She also had a fever. Her mother was worried and took her to the doctor. At the doctor's office, the doctor asked Mary how she was feeling and about her symptoms（症状). Mary told the doctor about her sore throat, runny nose and the fever. The doctor then checked Mary's throat and listened to her breathing with a stethoscope. 

After the examination, the doctor said that Mary had a cold. The doctor advised Mary to drink lots of water, have a good rest and take some medicine. The doctor also told her to avoid eating spicy and cold food for a few days. 

Mary and her mother thanked the doctor and went home. Mary hoped she would get better soon so that she could go back to school and play with her friends.
