Meiyu, born in 1991, is from Turkey(土耳其). She is the youngest child of her family. After high school, many people learned English or Japanese, but Meiyu decided to learn Chinese in university. She learned Chinese for four years in Ankara University in Turkey, and got her name Meiyu there.

Meiyu fell in love with Chinese after going to university. She became more interested after she knew more about Chinese history. In the beginning many people did not understand her decision. But they all said Meiyu had made a right choice when she graduated from university in 2013. Since then, more Chinese have been visiting Turkey. The trade between the two countries also requires Chinese-speaking people. ＂Speaking Chinese means more job opportunities.＂ said Meiyu.

Now Meiyu has been in Wuhan, China for about two years. Besides going on studying Chinese, she shows great interest in Chinese kung fu as well, so she spends her free time on kung fu training with her coaches. Not only can kung fu help improve her health, but she is also fascinated by the history and culture behind it. Meiyu said, ＂The more I know about China, the luckier I feel to have been here. But the truth is that fun and pain go together in the process of learning.＂

Meiyu will graduate in June this year. Her friends want her to stay in China, but her parents hope she can come back home. Meiyu thinks it is difficult to decide. ＂Even if I go back to Turkey, I will choose Chinese language education as my job,＂ said Meiyu.

    My mother took me to visit the orphanage (孤儿院) last weekend. I spent some {#blank#}1{#/blank#} with the children there. I couldn't sleep that night{#blank#}2{#/blank#} I kept thinking about them. I thought they must be unhappy without parents. I {#blank#}3{#/blank#} to do something for them. I would like to go there {#blank#}4{#/blank#}month and spend some time with them. A month later, I went back there on my birthday and {#blank#}5{#/blank#} them some chocolate. They {#blank#}6{#/blank#} my name and it made me happy. We played and sang together and the children were very {#blank#}7{#/blank#}. They prayed for {#blank#}8{#/blank#} that day. They didn't know much about me {#blank#}9{#/blank#} they were very kind. We should care more about the orphans and try to help {#blank#}10{#/blank#}live a happy life.

It's 5 o'clock. Sean Murphy is on his way home from work. He is tired and the bus is full, but when he thinks of seeing his lovely family at home, his heart is full of joy again.

"I want to see my wife, my children and my mother," he thinks. "But first of all I want to sit on the sofa. I want to relax and read a good book."

Finally Mr. Murphy is at home. He is very tired now but he is happy. He says hello to his family. Then he sits down on the sofa, stretches(伸展)his legs and lifts up his book.

"Now I can relax," he thinks and smiles. But Mr. Murphy is not alone in the room. His mother is playing the guitar and his wife is playing the piano. His two younger children are fighting and his two older children are arguing about the television. And the pots and pans are bubbling on the cooker(炊具).

It's the same every day. Poor Murphy is very unhappy. He talks to his friend about his problem at a bus stop.

Mr. Murphy's friend listens to him carefully. Then he says: "Go and see Linda McCormack! She is a very clever woman. She knows the answer to everything."

Mr. Murphy thinks it worth(值得)a try. The next day, when he gets home, he doesn't go into the house as usual. He goes to the garage(车库)and gets on his bike.

    In Britain you're allowed to drive a car when you're seventeen. You have to get a special two-year driving license before you start. When you're learning, someone with a full license always has to be in the car with you because you aren't allowed to drive the car on the road alone. You don't have to go to a driving school—a friend can teach you. The person with you isn't allowed to take money for the lessons unless he's got a teacher's license. 

    Before you're allowed to have a full license, you have to take a driving test. You can take a test in your own car, but it has to be fit for the road. In the test, you have to drive round for half an hour and then answer a few questions. If you don't pass the test, you're allowed to take it again a few weeks later. In 1970, a woman passed her fortieth test after 212 driving lessons! When you've passed your test, you're allowed to go on driving if you like, and you must be healthy. Britain's oldest driver was a man who drove in 1974 at the age of 100. 

    Before 1904, everyone was allowed to drive, even children. Then from 1904 car drivers had to have a license. But they didn't have to take a test until 1935. In the early days of car driving, before 1978, cars weren't allowed to go faster than four miles an hour, and someone had to lead the car with a red flag.
