A little girl thought she was not as beautiful as other girls, and nobody liked her. So she was 1 happy. She always stayed at home by herself and didn't talk to 2 .

    One day, her mother gave her a beautiful hair clip (发夹). When she 3 it, she looked much more beautiful than before. She decided to go to school in the beautiful hair clip.

  The Vietnam(越南) War broke out. The young husband 1the army and died in the war. His wife and son began to have a 2life after that. Even though their life was very hard and sometimes they didn't have enough food to eat, the 3still decided to raise her son by herself.

  Several years later her son immigrated(移民) to America 4finally become an engineer. He often sent letters to his mother with much money. However, with many excuses, the son 5to come back home to visit his mother.

  6his mother died, the son returned. But he didn't cry. His mother left a box behind. During the funeral(葬礼), the son opened the box and 7cried and shouted, "Mom! Mom!"8looked at each other and then looked at the box. It was full of $ 100 bill and a piece of paper.

  It read, "Son, I don't spend too much money. I miss you a lot. Every time I heard a motorcycle 9. I ran out of the door but it wasn't you. I stayed money 10you in case (以防) you get sick."

    My best holiday trip is one to Fraser's Hill in Selangor. It was the school holidays and my parents had booked a small house on top of the hill just one and a half hours' drive from our home.

    We started early in the morning by car. My brother, sister and I sat in the car excitedly thinking about the cool weather and the walk in the wood. We arrived at Kuala Kubu for breakfast. It was a little town that had many old buildings.

    Further along the way, we stopped at the lakeside to take pictures. Along its banks were some villages. The journey up the hills was interesting with tropical rainforest(热带雨林).

    Finally, we reached the Gap where we were allowed to go up to Fraser's. When we reached the town centre, a strange clock tower, old police station, and cute golf course greeted us. We stopped for lunch at a Chinese food restaurant. Then, we got to the house we booked.

    It was eating, sleeping, or playing cards all day as it was raining. We looked cool in our jackets as we walked along the road for dinner in town that night. It was dark when we went back. We were excited using our torches(手电筒). The next day was spent at the waterfalls 15 kilometers away and walked near the town. We had lunch at a Hainanese restaurant before checking out at 1 pm. People there were very friendly. We thanked them and said goodbye to the cool place before we made our way back to the polluted city.

One day, I went to the park with my family. I surprisingly found that a pige on was looking at {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(it) in the water! It was so interesting {#blank#}2{#/blank#} I became curious(好奇的) about pigeons. Then I did some research on pigeons. They {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(real) surprised me. 

I went to the library {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(read) some books about pigeons. There were over 200 kinds of pigeons. Some can fly several thousand {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(kilometre) and don't get lost. They can also fly at high speeds and that's as fast as my dad's car! What's more, they can also recognise themselves {#blank#}6{#/blank#} mirrors!

Pigeons are really {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(amaze)!I also asked my classmates to study what {#blank#}8{#/blank#} habits of pigeons were. At the end of the term, we have different {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(opinion). 

Now, I {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(become) more and more interested in pigeons and I'll keep learning more about them. Maybe I'll keep one at home in the future. 

Once there was a small village in the {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(中心) part of a valley (山谷). An elderly lady named Mabel lived there. She had a backyard that was as beautiful as a {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (花园). People from all around came to {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (欣赏) the beautiful flowers that filled her backyard. Mabel was so {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (自豪) of it. She told the visitors that the {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (秘诀) to her success were hard work and persistence (坚持). 

One day, a stranger came to the village. He was tall and carried a bag full of {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (葡萄). He was very interested in Mabel's flowers and asked, "Pardon me, could you please let me come in and have a look?" Mabel happily said yes and {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (对待) him as her guest.

All of a sudden, they found that several of her best flowers were missing. "Someone picked and {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (偷) them!" She was sad. The man felt bad for Mabel and wanted to help find who took the flowers. They looked around and finally found out it was one of Mabel's {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (亲戚) who needed money, so he took the flowers to sell.

Instead of being angry, Mabel educated the "thief" kindly and patiently. The stranger who used to be a plant scientist, was so touched by Mabel's kindness that he said he would help make her backyard beautiful again. Mabel was excited to have such a helper with whom she could share the{#blank#}10{#/blank#} (知识) of growing flowers.
