Frost's Descent (霜降) is the 18th of the 24 solar terms (节气). It is {#blank#}1{#/blank#} last solar term of autumn. During this period, the weather becomes much {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (cold) than before. Frost begins to show up and that is why it {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (get) its name. Despite that, there are plenty of delicious food {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (enjoy). 

Firstly, persimmons (柿子) are a popular choice. They can help people {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (stay) warm and protect {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (they) bones. Secondly, apples are good. In China, it's believed that "Eat an apple after meals, even old men can be as strong as young men." Thirdly, pears are great for clearing away heat from the body. Fourthly, duck meat is a {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (tradition) food in Taiwan province and Fujian province. It {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (be) a way for people there to gain (增加) weight during the colder months. Fifthly, chestnuts (栗子) are another excellent choice. Chestnuts are warm and sweet. They are good {#blank#}9{#/blank#} the stomach (胃) and the blood. Lastly, dates (海枣) are also healthy food, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} eating too much can be bad.
