Tu Youyou has become the first {#blank#}1{#/blank#} scientist of People's {#blank#}2{#/blank#} of China {#blank#}3{#/blank#} {#blank#}4{#/blank#} a Nobel Prize, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} for her contributions to the {#blank#}6{#/blank#} {#blank#}7{#/blank#} malaria, one of the {#blank#}8{#/blank#} {#blank#}9{#/blank#} in human history.

The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as the Duanwu Festival, is a traditional Chinese holiday celebrated nationwide {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (remember) Qu Yuan, one of the greatest poets of ancient China and the {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (early) known by name. When Qu Yuan jumped into a river out of love for his country in 278 BC, people {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (desperate) rowed out in boats to search for him. This inspired the Dragon Boat Festival, which takes place each year on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese calendar, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} day when Qu Yuan died. Festivities vary in different parts of China, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} they share several traditions, dragon boat racing included. Rowers sit in large dragon-shaped boats and row them {#blank#}6{#/blank#} the beat of a drum (鼓), which is usually played by someone {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (seat) at the front of the boat. Another feature of the celebrations is a popular snack called zongzi or {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (stick) rice dumplings. It is believed that zongzi, which represent good luck, {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (throw) into the river to stop fish eating Qu Yuanˈs body. In some parts of China, mugwort (艾草) leaves can be seen {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (hang) on doors or windows during the Dragon Boat Festival to discourage insects from entering the house.

Kenya {#blank#}1{#/blank#} （know） for its wonderful beaches. Water sports activities such as diving and game fishing have attracted visitors from around the world.

Visitors can {#blank#}2{#/blank#} （easy） spend a relaxing long holiday in any of these destinations. Maila Izi, a 22-year-old student, has been a fan of water sports since she was a child. Over the past years, she has been to several countries, such as France and Spain, to learn new skills including wave surfing. But she thinks Diani offers the {#blank#}3{#/blank#} （good） water sports experiences of all.

"This is the first time I {#blank#}4{#/blank#} （visit） but the sea is the most beautiful that I have ever seen," she said. "The sand beach is so wide, the water is so warm and I think it is the perfect place for kitesurfing. It's the most beautiful beach I have ever been on."

She went to Diani with her parents for a May holiday. Izi was determined {#blank#}5{#/blank#} （learn）kitesurfing, a water activity that uses a kite and surfboard（冲浪板）. It is a relatively new sport {#blank#}6{#/blank#} has gained increasing popularity. She signed up {#blank#}7{#/blank#} a class that offered three hours of training, including {#blank#}8{#/blank#} （fly） kites of different sizes.

Goodluck Shamala, the founder of a training institute in Diani, said kitesurfing, which used to be considered as {#blank#}9{#/blank#} extreme sport, has in recent years become more popular among {#blank#}10{#/blank#} （tourist）. Many come from countries as far as Germany, France, the United Kingdom and the United States.
