I love reading books very much. Every day after school, I walk to the bus station and take out {#blank#}1{#/blank#} book to read. Some books are very exciting and I often lose myself in those books and {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(easy) forget everything.

Last Tuesday, I wanted {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(buy) a book at a bookshop and I missed the last bus. I was very worried at that time {#blank#}4{#/blank#} I had no money on me. Luckily, there was a nice staff member(工作人员) in the station.He was a tall man {#blank#}5{#/blank#} very short hair and a pair of glasses. When I told {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(he) I missed the last bus and I didn't have any money to take a taxi home, he said,"That's not good, boy. I am so sorry for you, but I will finish my work in ten {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(minute). If you don't mind{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(wait) for a few minutes, I can give you a lift(搭便车) on your way back home."When I heard {#blank#}9{#/blank#} he said, I was excited and moved. I broke into a big smile and kept saying"Thanks".

At last, I arrived home happily. I thanked the man a lot for his  {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(kind).

 Late that night, we started our final part of the climb. Nervously we carried on after a short rest. Everyone looked  1 . Outside of the tent it was totally black. It was just after  2 . Snow was falling. It was freezing.

 The group climbed silently through deep snow. I could not think. The height of the mountain was playing tricks on my  3 . I tried to keep concentrated(集中思想) by watching my feet and counting to ten  4 .

 People around me were just standing still as they tried to get their breath.I tried to encourage them to keep walking. My friend looked at me 5 . He was really tired. He kept trying to lie down and go to sleep. If he did, he would freeze to death. I told him to keep moving. He climbed on. When I checked my  6 , I saw, with surprise, that I'd been walking for three hours already. I felt as if I was fighting every step of the way. All I wanted to do was to turn round and go down — but I must reach the top!

I began to wonder if I was not strong enough. I was losing my mind. My breathing was very rapid. Each  7 I took made me more and more dizzy(晕眩的). Someone told me we had another hour and a half to go.

I forced myself to  8 . I had to be more careful because one careless step could make me 9 .

Then I saw Gilman's Peak up ahead of me. Someone at the top was telling me to make one last effort. The sun was beginning to  10 above the clouds. I climbed up the last few meters and suddenly I realized I'd done it!I was there! I was at the top of Africa!

David was a bit too fat. He went to buy an exercise machine. He tried to 1 some weight(减肥).

At first, he put it in the basement (地下室).2 he did not use it often. He hardly (几乎不) went into the basement.

Next, he moved it into his 3 . But he still didn't use it very often. That's because he would only go into the bedroom when it was time for him to go to 4 . Finally, he moved it 5 the living room. He put the machine next to the 6 . His wife thought maybe this would finally work. He could exercise and 7 outside at the beautiful garden at the same time.

After about a week, his wife 8 David how his exercise was going. He said," Well, yes, I do 9 exercise these days. Every time I want to10 the window, I have to walk around the exercise machine."

I have many hobbies, and one of them is drawing. I {#blank#}1{#/blank#} pictures for three years. If I sit quietly in one place, I can draw for hours. Drawing keeps me busy and relaxes my mind. However, no one knows {#blank#}2{#/blank#} I love drawing so much. 

In the past, I didn't like communicating with others because I thought that compared with talking with others, I {#blank#}3{#/blank#} to show my feelings quietly, so I didn't have any friends. Sometimes I even felt  {#blank#}4{#/blank#} about it. 

Drawing is not just a way for me to spend the time. It has shown me the best way to share my ideas and feelings  {#blank#}5{#/blank#} I started it. It has helped me connect more with nature {#blank#}6{#/blank#} helped me feel its beauty. Trees, birds, animals, rivers, and clouds are something that I like to draw. 

So far, I {#blank#}7{#/blank#} my own way of drawing. My art teacher always praises(表扬) me and{#blank#}8{#/blank#} me many useful drawing skills. At the same time, my parents and friends encourage me as well. 

Before I started to draw, I didn't know what my future plan  {#blank#}9{#/blank#} . Now, my future plan is to become a real artist. I believe that it is possible {#blank#}10{#/blank#}I keep practising hard. So I will keep drawing for the rest(其余) of my life.
