John is a barista(咖啡师). He has got the first prize in the city's Barista of the Year competition. Peter, a reporter,1 him for City People Magazine.

Peter:Congratulations, John!

John:Thanks. The judges (裁判) said they loved my coffee—so I'm 2 .

Peter: Why do you like to be a barista?

John: I love making coffee for people. I take a lot of care to make people love it.

Peter: Where do you work?

John: In a cafe in the city center. It is always 3 because it's full of people all the time. I start my work at 6:00 in the morning. When the earliest customers (顾客) come into my cafe, the first thing they get is a cup of coffee to start their working day! I try to remember the taste and4 of each person. For example, a lady named Sandy ordered a latte (拿铁) every day. 

Peter:That's why you got the first prize. What comes next?

John: I'll go to a party. Baristas from all over the world will be there to 5 .

Mr Black is a police officer. He looks cool!The mice often steal(偷) rice. Mr Black wants to catch them. The mice run away quickly. They're a{#blank#}1{#/blank#}. Mr Black chases the mice. He is a{#blank#}2{#/blank#}! The mice are arrested(被捕). They are s{#blank#}3{#/blank#}. Mr Black catch-es the thieves(小偷). He is h{#blank#}4{#/blank#}!

Our first stop was Paris, the capital city. It's one of the most romantic（浪漫的）cities around the world. We walked along the River Seine（塞纳河）. My walk took me past the Notre—Dame Cathedral（巴黎圣母院）and onto the Eiffel Tower（埃菲尔铁塔）. On our way we stopped many times to. look into art galleries（画廊）along the streets, or just to watch people coming and going. 

Later, we left the capital and found more to see. We visited many beautiful villages. We climbed up part of Mont Blanc（勃朗峰）. It's the highest mountain in Western Europe（欧洲）at 4,807 metres. Then we went to the beaches in the south. We enjoyed the lovely sunshine and sand there. 

During the last days, we enjoyed the nice food in France. It was hard to say no to the lovely pancakes On a hot day, we went to a French restaurant and ordered some mussels（贻贝）. They are cooked in white wine（酒）. They are very delicious. 

Traveling in France is fun. It is a good place to travel. 

Alice and Peter do a survey about the numbers of wild animals in the past and now. Then they make a bar chart (柱状图).

One day, Little Dinosaur(恐龙) saw Big Dinosaur coming. He was scared of Big Dinosaur. So he went under a rock. Big Dinosaur ate all the leaves and he went to sleep. But a fire came. Little Dinosaur went to tap (轻拍) on Big Dinosaur. Big Dinosaur opened his eyes and ran away fast. The fire was getting bigger and bigger. But Little Dinosaur was still(仍然) under the rock. Suddenly(突然), he heard something. Little Dinosaur looked up. Oh, it was Big Dinosaur. He came to help Little Dinosaur. Little Dinosaur got up on Big Dinosaur. And Big Dinosaur ran fast to the river.
