The male stays with the egg and keeps it warm. the egg gets too cold, the baby penguin inside will So the male keeps egg off the ice and covers it with his stomach feathers (羽毛).
For the two months that the females are away, the males stay together to stay warm and protect each other strong winds and snowstorms. During this time, they eat because they can't leave their eggs until the females return.
