Deadly flooding has swept China s northern provinces this summer，causing many losses such as a number of people died and houses were destroyed（破坏） by floods. Like many other natural disasters，floods can happen with little or no warming. Finish floods move quickly and have strong currents（水流）. They are known to bring down trees and take down buildings. Besides，floods can cause power cuts （停电），traffic jam and other problems. But the food itself isn't the only problem to deal with. After the flood，it may have deadly results，as it may not be easy to send food and water to the area. 

So In the face of a flash food，how should we save ourselves？

*Don't use bridges that rapidly﹣moving water is crossing，as floodwater can cause bridges to break. 

*Listen to emergency broadcasts （应急广播） for more information. If told to move to another place，do so. 

*Stay inside the car if the car Is caught in the fast﹣moving water. Only get out if the water begins to food the car itself，and then move to the roof（项部） of the car. 

*Stay away from power lines （电线），as they are knocked down during the strong storms. Besides，here is something to keep in mind after a flood. 

*Do not use floodwater to wash food or drink it. 

*Return to your home only after the government has said it is safe to do so. 

*Use only bottled or clean water for drinking cooking are nothing. 

①There is a saying," You are what you eat." How about, you are what you read? Many people believe reading can shape your identity(身份).

②Your identity is who or what you are and what you do. Books, magazines or even websites you often read or visit change the way you think and what you believe in, then decide the things you do.

③For example, an 8- year- old boy has read that throwing rubbish about is polluting and killing the earth, then he will believe it is bad and won't do it again. This is the message he' ll share with the people around him. And they will see him as someone who loves the earth. This becomes part of his identity—— an earth- lover.

④Research has shown that reading also changes the way you interact with (相互影响) people around you. Reading stories helps you imagine and understand situations and others better. You will be more open- minded, less self- centered and more caring. People may see you as someone who is warm- hearted, and that becomes part of your identity.

⑤It is important to read as it can shape your identity. Reading different kinds of books can help you become what you want to be. Read biographies(传记) of people who encourages you if you want to be more like them. If you want to be a creative writer, read more fiction books. If you want to be a songwriter, read more poetry!

 Hello, everyone ! It's my honor to introduce a great scientist — Tu Youyou. 

Wonderful Park has finally reopened after nearly three months of repair! Since my sister Julia's birthday is coming, yesterday my parents took us to the park to have some fun. Julia was very excited as she had never been to Wonderful Park before.

We arrived at the park early in the morning. While we were buying tickets at the ticket office, Julia was told that she could enjoy free admission during her birthday month. She could also get some pin s and stickers for free. Julia was over the moon with her birthday presents. After buying our tickets, Julia wanted to ride the Ferris wheel. However, Mum suggested going to the King's Theatre first as a musical was about to begin.

We were attracted by the delicious smell of popcorn while we were on the way to the King's Theatre. We bought two bags of chocolate popcorn and it tasted good. Before we entered the theatre, there were two cartoon characters standing at the entrance. They were lovable so Julia and I took some photos with them. The show began at ten forty-five. Though I am not a big fan of musicals, it was really great. All the performers sang and danced well. There was a huge round of applause (掌声) when the show ended. Then, we went to the ride. It was the last stop and also the most enjoyable part of our trip.

Here are the photos we took. The first one shows the chocolate popcorn. It was yummy! Next are the photos we took at the entrance of the King's Theatre. The cartoon characters are giving me and Julia a big hug! Here comes the photo that J like best. We took this after we rode on the Ferris wheel. Dad is putting his arm around Mum's shoulders. Julia is making a V sign with her fingers and I am making a silly face. It is a nice family photo. We all look forward to visiting the park again!

I am Susan. My favourite place is a farm. My father buys the farm. Every summer holiday my friends and I go to the farm. We enjoy our time there. 

The farm has a big house. It has six rooms and a big kitchen. In the living room there is a beautiful fireplace (壁炉), so we feel warm. Around the house there are flowers and trees. The trees are big and very old. They look very green in summer. I feel cool under the trees. Many birds' songs make me feel happy. 

 My favourite time on the farm is the night. I enjoy looking at the stars. I spend a lot of time after dinner talking with my parents. We often sit outside the house under the beautiful sky and tell old stories.
