One hot day, an ant was {#blank#}1{#/blank#}  for some water. After walking around {#blank#}2{#/blank#}  some time, she came to a river. To get to the river, she had to climb up a piece of grass.{#blank#}3{#/blank#} the ant was making her way up, she fell into the water.

 Just then a dove up a {#blank#}4{#/blank#} tree saw her. When the dove saw that the ant was in trouble, he {#blank#}5{#/blank#}  picked off a leaf and dropped {#blank#}6{#/blank#} into the water near the ant. The ant moved towards the leaf{#blank#}7{#/blank#} climbed up there. Soon it carried her safely to dry ground. Just at that time, a hunter (猎人) nearby was going to shoot the dove. As soon as the ant found {#blank#}8{#/blank#} the hunter was going to do, she quickly bit (咬){#blank#}9{#/blank#}  on the heel. Feeling the pain, the hunter {#blank#}10{#/blank#}  his gun. The dove was quick to fly away to safety.

    In China, we often say that a good neighbour is better than a brother in the next village. It's very important for us to h{#blank#}1{#/blank#} a good neighbour.

    First, a good neighbour is a good friend. When your family m{#blank#}2{#/blank#} to a new house,  your  neighbours can h{#blank#}3{#/blank#} you carry some furniture like tables and sofas and t{#blank#}4{#/blank#} you something about your neighbourhood. Maybe they will also invite all the m{#blank#}5{#/blank#} of your family to their house to have a hot d{#blank#}6{#/blank#}. It is comfortable to stay there to h{#blank#}7{#/blank#} a rest.

    S{#blank#}8{#/blank#}, a good neighbour is also a good relative. When you travel, your neighbours will take care of your house. And you can a{#blank#}9{#/blank#} help them when they have the same situation.

    Third and finally, we can get a very important lesson f{#blank#}10{#/blank#} our neighbours that having a good neighbour is being a good neighbour yourself.

    It was a hot day. Everybody wanted {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (get) cool, so an ice cream store was popular.

She turned and started to walk away with tears {#blank#}6{#/blank#}her eyes. Just then, the big man called her. He took off his shoes {#blank#}7{#/blank#} put them in front of the girl. “If you walk with them, you can get your ice cream.” he said.

    Then he helped the girl put her {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (foot) into the shoes. He said, “I get {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (tire) of walking around, and it'll be good to just sit here and eat {#blank#}10{#/blank#} ice cream.” The little girl was happy. She ran into the store and ordered her ice cream.

    Mary and I are {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (sister). This is my room. It's tidy. First, you can {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (see) two beds. The red bed is {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (Mary).     "What do you want?" The man asked. "I am looking for work." answered Tom. "Any kind of work?" the man asked. "Any kind of {#blank#}5{#/blank#} , please. I am strong, you see." Tom said.

    The man looked at Tom for a long time and then he said, "We have got enough workers. We want no more. Get out."

    Tom turned around. When he was going to the door, the {#blank#}6{#/blank#} man said, "Look, do you see the man over there?" He pointed to a man outside the window. "I give him five dollars a day. I will only give you four dollars a day. Do you want his job? He is getting old. Of course, I won't give you five dollars a day. I can {#blank#}7{#/blank#} give you four dollars a day."

    For a long time, Tom said nothing. He thought of his wife {#blank#}8{#/blank#} children. But that worker had his wife and children, {#blank#}9{#/blank#}. Finally Tom said, "{#blank#}10{#/blank#}， I won't want the job." Tom was right. He didn't want to take the bread out of another worker's mouth.
