In my life, the person who has influenced me most is my father. He is a role model for me. Now I'll tell you something about him. My father is in his{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(fifty). He never smokes or drinks. He{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(work) in a local factory for years. You will not find anything{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(usual) about him until you learn more. He works{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(care) all the time, so he{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(respect) by his colleagues. My father has always been kind and helpful. He has fun{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(talk) with old people. He gave our TV to a family who could not afford one. He cares for the children who have lost their parents. Whenever he has some money left, he {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(give) it to someone in need.

    My father has donated blood many times since we{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(move) here. The blood he has donated is much enough{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(save) over 70 lives. He has donated blood cells to people with blood cancer. To my surprise, he has decided to donate his body for medical research after his{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(die).

    When I was a little girl, I could not understand why my father always seemed to be{#blank#}11{#/blank#}(kind) to others than to his own families and why he thinks of others more than{#blank#}12{#/blank#}(he). Now I realise that he owns a heart full of love.

One day, Mr. White takes his mother to a shopping mall. He wants to buy a new pair of shoes for her.

There are so many beautiful shoes, and the old woman tries on（试穿） some shoes happily. But she doesn't like any of them when she knows the prices.

Seeing this, Mr. White speaks to the shopkeeper quietly（轻轻地）, "Next time. when my mother shows interest in（对……感兴趣） some pairs, just tell her the price is only 15 dollars."

"But that's not the real price!" the shopkeeper says.

"Don't worry! I will pay（付钱） for the shoes at the real price."

Then, the old woman gets her favorite shoes. Mr. White pays 15 dollars at first, and then he pays another 50 dollars privately.

Three days later, the shopkeeper asks Mr. White to come back and pay more money. Mr. White feels surprised. He asks, "Why?" Because your mother brings many of her friends to buy that kind of shoes."

Dunhuang used to be a major stop along the Silk Road, but is now mainly a fascinating tourist destination. People who are interested in Dunhuang's colorful history will be attracted by the Mogao Caves (莫高窟) , one of the city's main {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (place) of interest. The entrance to each cave {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (block) by a locked door, which can only be opened by expert guides. Behind these doors are caves of all sizes - {#blank#}3{#/blank#} very small to extremely huge. The caves contain (包含) thousands of {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (price) silk paintings and manuscripts, which drew much attention to the area. 

Besides, there is nothing more special than {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (walk) across the desert oasis at sunrise. You must rise early {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (catch) this amazing scene. It's cold, but as the sun rises on the top of golden dunes (沙) and {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (paint) quite a fascinating scene, all your efforts pay off. Sunset is a popular time {#blank#}8{#/blank#} you can go for a camel ride. Get off the camels, walk up a very steep (陡峭的) dune, and {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (sure) you will find the best position to view the sunset. 

No trip to Dunhuang is complete without visiting the Dunhuang museum. It is so big {#blank#}10{#/blank#} it contains tens of thousands of original artworks. Here, you must be amazed by its rich culture. 

When the three dirty- looking pirates try to s{#blank#}1{#/blank#} the royal treasures when Queen Norah is away, the masked cleaning ladies of Om teach them a lesson. With their excellent cleaning skills, they finally lead the three pirates into the bathroom where they are s{#blank#}2{#/blank#} and soaped. Later when they are taken into the room the queen k{#blank#}3{#/blank#} all the royal treasures, they have a second try but still fail because King Harry and his man notice everything and stop them in time.

Recently we did a survey in our class in order to learn about students' dream jobs. 

I hope everyone can realize their dreams in the future. 

Mr. Stevens walked around the class handing out math books. Then he returned to the front of the class and looked at us. We stared (盯着看) back. "What are you waiting for? Get started!" he said. 

We looked at him, confused (困惑的). A student asked, "Mr. Stevens, aren't you going to teach us first?" Mr. Stevens replied, "You're smart kids. Open the book and get to it. If you have any questions, raise your hand, and I'll come to help you."

My friend Paul and I opened our books to the first page. A competition began. Paul and I spent all our free time at home working through the lessons. Mr. Stevens, true to his word, helped anyone who had a problem. It was not a normal way of teaching but it worked well. Paul and I worked like dogs and finished two and one half math books that first year. 

It was a turning point in my life. Mr. Stevens made me realize I was good at math and that I was able to reach the top of any class I attended. I kept learning that way all through my high school and university. 

I've carried Mr. Stevens' lesson with me all my life. Whenever I am faced with a new challenge, I think of the first math class of my junior high school. Instead of sitting around, I just get started. Then before I know it, the challenge has been dealt with.
