Peng Jiangya, a 24-year-old girl, was born in Guizhou. She grew up in a small {#blank#}1{#/blank#}（村庄） with her grandparents. Peng didn't have an easy childhood, but things got even {#blank#}2{#/blank#}（更糟糕）.

    One day she fell into a fire stove（火炉）, and the fire burned her fingers {#blank#}3{#/blank#}（严重地）. The family was too poor to {#blank#}4{#/blank#}（承担得起）the expensive medical treatment, at last she lost all her fingers. However, her bad luck hasn't {#blank#}5{#/blank#}（影响）her. Instead, she managed to do everything on her own and she overcame those difficult times.

    As a child, Jiangya often saw others make cross-stitch（十字绣）and then she decided to learn to make it {#blank#}6{#/blank#}（她自己）. As you can imagine, {#blank#}7{#/blank#}（拿住）a needle（针）without fingers is very difficult, and Jiangya failed so many times. Still, she never gave up. {#blank#}8{#/blank#}（通过）many hours of practice, now she can use her arms to make good cross-stitch works and she is faster than other people. And she has the {#blank#}9{#/blank#}（能力）to look after her own family. "One has to put great efforts（努力）into what she is doing," Jiangya said.
