    It's summer holidays. For Jacob, it means (意味着) having a lot of free time to play with {#blank#}1{#/blank#}friends. Usually, he isn't so excited about it, but this summer is {#blank#}2{#/blank#}.This summer, he is going to see Justin Timberlake – one of his favorite singers.

    Jacob got four free tickets to Justin Timberlake' s concert (演唱会) after he{#blank#}3{#/blank#}an online singing competition.{#blank#}4{#/blank#}Justin Timberlake is one of his dreams, so it will be something he will never forget.

    The biggest {#blank#}5{#/blank#}he had was trying to choose just three friends to go with him. He {#blank#}6{#/blank#}that all his friends could go. He asked his mother for help. She told him to choose people who {#blank#}7{#/blank#}liked Justin Timberlake. Jacob thought it was a good {#blank#}8{#/blank#}so he chose three friends who liked Justin Timberlake as much as he did. He felt sorry for not {#blank#}9{#/blank#}his best friend Andrew, but he knew that Andrew didn't like Justin Timberlake's music that much. Jacob's three friends were all very excited when he {#blank#}10{#/blank#} them the good news.

    Now the concert is just a week away and Jacob can hardly wait.

    Ever since I was a young girl, my favourite kind of music has been blues ( 布鲁斯音乐 ). The {#blank#}1{#/blank#}CD I bought was Chuck Berry's Greatest Hits when I was 11 years old. I really {#blank#}2{#/blank#} it and I would singalong and dance around my bedroom to the music. Even now, whenever I {#blank#}3{#/blank#}one of Chuck Berry's songs ,I can't help but(无法不……) sing along to the music.

    As I got older, I started to listen to other {#blank#}4{#/blank#} . I would listen to Elvis Presley almost every day after school. I {#blank#}5{#/blank#}loved music that made me want to dance. I started to love soul music(灵乐) too after a friend bought me a Motown Classics CD {#blank#}6{#/blank#} my 15th birthday. My favourite hobby was listening to Aretha Franklin or Katrina and the Waves. I looked up to ( 尊敬) a lot of these {#blank#}7{#/blank#} artists and performers(表演者) and still do that to this day. As quite a(n) {#blank#}8{#/blank#} person, hearing these people perform with such Confidence and such talent was inspirational(鼓舞人心的) to me.

    I find that if I have had a hard day {#blank#}9{#/blank#} I'm feeling a little low , listening to something upbeat( 积极向上的) can cheer me up. In fact, scientists have {#blank#}10{#/blank#}that people can make themselves feel good by listening to upbeat songs!
