Charlie Chaplin was considered to be one of the most popular {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (star) in the early days of films. He brightened the lives of people throughout the world {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (use) his perfect acting.

    Charlie was born in a poor family and lived {#blank#}3{#/blank#} hard life in his childhood. His parents were both poor hall performers,{#blank#}4{#/blank#} didn't make much money. Therefore, at a very young age, Charlie had to learn {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(sing) and dance. By his teens, his subtle acting had become so entertaining{#blank#}6{#/blank#} no one in England was ever bored watching him mime and act the fool doing ordinary everyday tasks. In 1972, he won a special Oscar {#blank#}7{#/blank#} his outstanding work in the films that he wrote, directed, produced, and starred in. He made people laugh even when they felt depressed. And no one has done {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (well) than him up to now.

    Charlie lived in England and the USA but {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(spend) his last years in Switzerland, where he died of {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (nature) causes on December 25, 1977.

    As one of "China's new four great inventions", China's high-speed rail eyes the world again with "Fuxing". It is proud of a top speed of 400 km/h and a continuous speed of 350 km/h. It is {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (total) designed and produced by Chinese engineers {#blank#}2{#/blank#} any help from the West.

    China's high-speed train is not only known for its amazing speed, but also for its safety and comfort. Last year, it safely carried 1.4 billion {#blank#}3{#/blank#}, or the total population of Africa and South America {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (combine).

    In 2015, a video taken by a Swedish traveler became popular on social media both at {#blank#}5{#/blank#} and abroad. In the nine-minute video, a coin stood upright all the time on a fast-running high-speed train. It shows the steadiness (稳定) of China's high-speed train, {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (give) visitors a comfortable travelling experience.

    The service on China's high-speed rail is still improving. The new bullet train plans to increase the height, and the Wi-Fi network will {#blank#}7{#/blank#} the whole train. Its air conditioning system is designed to reduce the influence of the external pressure wave {#blank#}8{#/blank#} the train is passing through tunnels, easing {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (comfort) of ears.

    The rapid development of China's high-speed rail in the past five years {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (mark) China's increasing strength in technology and innovation. It has become a new symbol, showing China's great progress to the world.

    As victor Hugo once said, “{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(laugh) is the sun that drives winter from the human face”, and up to now nobody has been able to do this {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(well) than Charlie Chaplin. He {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(bright) the lives of Americans and British through two world wars and the hard years in between. He made people laugh at a time when they felt depressed, so they could feel more content {#blank#}4{#/blank#} their lives. No one was ever bored watching him—his subtle acting made everything {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(entertain).  As time {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(go) by, he began making films. He grew more and more popular as his charming character, the little tramp, became known throughout the world. He walked around stiffly {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(carry) a walking stick. This character was {#blank#}8{#/blank#} social failure but was loved for his optimism and determination to overcome all {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(difficult). Charlie Chaplin wrote, directed and produced the films he starred in. In 1972 he was given a special Oscar for his outstanding work in films. He is loved and remembered as a great actor {#blank#}10{#/blank#} could inspire people with great confidence.

    TFK, a reporter from NEWS WEEKLY, is interviewing JACOB, a famous actor and singer.

    TFK: What made you get into music?

    JACOB: My family is very {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(music). My dad and uncles formed a music group. So when I was young, I was always looking up to them and watching them performing. At the age of 9, I started getting into the studio. Everything developed from there.

    TFK: Is there a player{#blank#}2{#/blank#}achievements you admire (羡慕)?

    JACOB: Right now, I would say Justin Timberlake. He really did well in the film and music.

    TFK: What other projects are you working on?

    JACOB: I am working on a record{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(call) This is Me: Volume 2. I{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(do) movies all year, because I want to{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(brief) show my fans my growth. I'm also in a movie called The Maze Runner,{#blank#}6{#/blank#} will come out next September.

    TFK: When you are not acting or studying, what do you like to do?

    JACOB: I love to eat service food on set. I was eating chocolate bars while {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (make) the film Black Nativity. I was eating so much{#blank#}8{#/blank#} they were making special food packages for me.

    TFK: By the way, what message do you think people will take away{#blank#}9{#/blank#}Black Nativity?

    JACOB: The true meaning of faith and the deep{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(devote) to one's family.
