    There is no doubt {#blank#}2{#/blank#} choosing merit students may inspire some students to learn from those models, which make many parents happy, for they always attach great importance to their education. However, this way has its {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (weak). As we know, the students are still young, and choosing merit students may be {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(harm) to their mental health by sorting them into good students and bad students. So it {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(obvious) doesn't benefit them in health. At the same time, teachers are always {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(drown) in teaching, thus ignoring their virtue and PE, which does more harm {#blank#}7{#/blank#} good to the growth of students.

    World Read Aloud Day is celebrated each year on the first Wednesday of March. It {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (start) by the LitWorld.org website in 2010 and has now reached 65 countries. The aim is to encourage people worldwide who cannot read to enjoy the benefits of a book. The website asks everyone {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (celebrate) the day by taking a book, finding an audience, and reading out aloud. It is about taking action to show the world that the right to read and write {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(belong) to all people.

    The website asks {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(visit) to join in the movement to reduce {#blank#}5{#/blank#}  number of illiterate（不识字的）people in the world. It is {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (absolute) necessary to help those who cannot read. The website says, “It's time to start by reading aloud to {#blank#}7{#/blank#} might like it. Share a book with a child who might need it, share a story with someone who would treasure it, listen patiently {#blank#}8{#/blank#} someone else's story as they share with you.” The United Nations says, “Literacy involves a variety of learning in enabling individuals to achieve their goals, to develop their knowledge, {#blank#}9{#/blank#} to participate fully in society.” In that way, World Read Aloud Day does help make a {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(different).

    Chinese proverbs are rich and they are still widely used {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Chinese people's daily life. Behind these proverbs, there are often interesting {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (story). For example, the proverb "plucking up a crop to help it grow" is {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (base) on the following story.

    It is said {#blank#}4{#/blank#} a short-tempered man in the state of Song was very anxious {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (help) his rice crops grow up quickly. He was thinking about it day and night. But the crops were growing much slower than he expected.

    One day, he came up with an idea that he would pluck up all of {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (he) crops a few inches. He did so the next day.

    He was very tired after finishing doing this for a whole day, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} he felt very happy since the crops did "grow" {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (high).

    His son heard about this and went to see the crops. {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (unfortunate), the leaves of the crops began to wither (枯萎).

    This proverb tells us that we should let things go in their natural course. Being anxious to help an event develop often {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (result) in the contrary to our intention.
