Many people think heroes (英雄) need to be handsome rich, or very smart. But as for me, a hero is a person who always helps others. My hero is Uncle Bill. He is the oldest son of a worker, and he grew up in a poor family with four younger brothers and two little sisters.

He was good at neither writing nor maths. In fact, he never did well in school. So he had to give up school at a very young age. He worked and gave all his money to help his parents. When he was getting older, he found that he was very interested in fixing things. He collected broken things which people threw away and fixed them. He could fix almost everything that did not work. He worked hard and never gave up. Finally, he opened his own repair shop. It took him about twenty years to become a successful shopkeeper.

Now he is very wealthy and has four shops. But he never forgets the days when he had nothing. He gives money to poor families, helps poor kids buy books and offers them free lunch. He also encourages people to reuse things. He always says, "Make good use of what you have because we just have one earth."

I am proud of Uncle Bill. He is really a hero.

It's nice today. A fox (狐狸) is looking for food. Then he sees a chicken on a farm. He says to himself(他自己), "Wow, great! This is my delicious(美味的)breakfast." He comes up to the chicken and says, "Hi, Miss Chicken. I know you can sing very well. All my friends like your songs very much. Can you sing one for me?" The chicken is happy to hear（听到） that. And she is proud（骄傲）of herself(她自己).So she sings a song. The fox sees that and takes her away quickly.

On the farm, there are some farmers. They see the fox and shout(大喊), "Look! The fox is taking the chicken away." Hearing this, the chicken says to the fox, "Mr. Fox, can you hear that? The people say you are taking their chicken away. Tell them I am your chicken, not their chicken." The fox opens (张开)his mouth and says, "You are right." Then he shouts, "This is my chicken, not your chicken." Just then the chicken runs away（逃跑） from the fox and flies into the tree.

Hello, everyone! I am Lucy Miller and I am from America. I am ten years old. I study in a junior high school in 1 now. My parents are 2 in my school. My mother is a(n)3 teacher. My 4 is an English teacher. My school is nice and big. 

I 5 a good friend. Her first name is Kate, and her 6 name is Smith. We always 7 her Kate. Her phone 8 is 6589 3352. 9 Chinese teacher is Mr Black. He is a 10 teacher, and he likes telling stories. He often tells us a lot of stories about Chinese history. He is kind to us, 11 we all like him and his class. 

Do you know 12 our maths teacher is? It is my mother. I 13 it is very good. That's because I can see her at home and 14 . At school, I can play sports with my 15 . I like my life in China!

I can't forget that day. It was a cold snowy morning, the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (天空) was gray and dark. I got up early and went to a new school, which is the most {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (著名的) one in the foreign city. I was walking alone and worried about lots of things because it was the first time for me to stay {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (在国外).

 It was early, so it was {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (寂静的) outside. Suddenly a girl who was riding her bike got into trouble. She fell off the bike and tried to get up. But she failed. Without thinking, I went over and {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (设法完成) to help her to get up. She said" thank you" with a smile and then{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (离开) . Her words warmed me a lot.

 Finally, I got to school. The teacher introduced me to the whole class. Then he asked me to sit{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(在……旁边) a girl. I felt so nervous. Soon the bell rang for the geography class. Their textbooks were different! Just I wanted to ask teacher for help. A geography book with a national  63. {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(旗帜) on its cover was in front of me. "Let's share", the friendly girl next to me said, "Hi, I'm Carrie. I'm {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(加拿大人)." To my surprise, it was the girl that I helped this morning. Later on, we became good friends.

From that I learned, to help others is actually to help {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(我们自己). What life teaches us is not only knowledge but also experience.

How are you these days?

You shared with me about your favourite subjects in your last letter. I like English too. I think it is interesting and useful. You also like Maths, but I am not good at it. I think it is too difficult. Maybe you can help me with it next time. 

Our classes are over at 4:30 p. m. and I can get home at 5:00 p. m. , but I seldom go home after class because I take part in different activities. On Monday afternoon, I have a violin lesson for an hour. On Tuesday and Friday afternoon, I go to the Reading Club with my friends. We talk about the books and the writers, and we enjoy it so much. On Thursday, I go to the Chess Club. I often play chess for about an hour. What is more, we have a school field trip every term. We often visit a farm. We can learn how to grow different kinds of crops (作物) and pick fruit. It is great fun. 

On Saturday, I don't have classes. I often practice singing in an art school. I like singing and I can sing better now. I usually go to the park with my friends or have a rest on Sunday. I am busy every day, but I enjoy my life very much.
