Once upon a time, there was a deer. He had large, strong antlers (鹿角). His owner protected him from being hurt by other animals as well as the {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(风) and {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(暴风雨), so he was always safe.

One day, the deer came near a river to drink. The water was like a mirror. The reflection(倒影) of his big antlers {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(闪耀 ) in the water. He was {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(兴奋 的) and {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(微笑). "I look like a(n){#blank#}6{#/blank#} (国王)," he said,"and the whole forest {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(区域)is my country."

Then he felt {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(受震惊的) when he was looking into the water."My legs are thin and my feet are small," he said."They look so {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(奇怪的). I hate them."

While the deer was complaining(抱怨), a tiger was {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(躲藏) near the river. When the deer saw him, he made his way to the trees. The tiger quickly chased after him. The deer was a fast runner and reached the trees first, but then his large antlers got stuck in some small {#blank#}11{#/blank#}(棍子). {#blank#}12{#/blank#}(突然), the tiger caught him, the deer cried out sadly.

He {#blank#}13{#/blank#} (开始) to {#blank#}14{#/blank#} (意识到) his mistake."I love my antlers, but they {#blank#}15{#/blank#}(导致) to my trouble. My legs and feet could help me run faster, but I hate them. How stupid I was! They are both important to me!"

Nature was Chen Rui's "childhood home". The 37-year-old researcher at the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Institute of Zoology was not able to talk until he was 4 years old because of the way his brain processes sensory (感官) information. 

This made him "strange" in some people's minds. So, he didn't have friends who were around his age, which led him to turn his attention to nonhuman things around him. He became enraptured by the world of insects. "The happiest time of my childhood was in the farm fields," says Chen. "I squatted there, observing the actions of insects. I had so many questions about their activities and was full of curiosity about this world." These experiences planted a seed in his heart. 

Many years later, he's an expert in life-science research. He has visited the Amazon rainforest several times, and has found around 100 new species (物种), many of which are named after him. 

"I was a child who was ‘cured (治愈)' by nature," he says. "I wanted to grow up to share the power of nature with more young people and to popularize understanding of animals, including insects. I wanted to start classes to bring children to learn in the open air and experience the gifts nature gives." These led him to recently publish the popular science book, Du Chong Ji (Reading About Insects) 

"Insects were the earliest creatures that could fly and feed themselves by farming. They have survived three mass extinctions (大规模灭绝). No other living things have won such victories." He hopes that people will learn and draw inspiration from the "superpowers" of insects and use it to improve their own lives.

People were especially familiar with Cha's pen name, Jin Yong. He was regarded as a rather {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(有影响力的)wu xia writer. Born in Haining in 1924, Cha began working in 1947 to support his studies. He moved to Hong Kong and then f{#blank#}4{#/blank#} the local Chinese-language newspaper Mingpao. In 1955, Cha published his first wuxia novel which turned out to be a great {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(胜利).

Cha wrote all his 15 novels between 1955 and 1972.In his novels, the heroes meet lots of enemies. They don't lose hearts but fight against d{#blank#}6{#/blank#} till the last moment .In the end, the bad men are p{#blank#}7{#/blank#}. Cha's novels are welcomed around the world. It's {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(众所周知的)that many of them have been made into films, TV series and video game. The novels also have sold over m{#blank#}9{#/blank#} of copies.

Wuxia readers are very sad about his death. Many famous people, including Mayun and Andy Lai {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(意识到) their sadness when they heard the news of his death.

Sam was a little worried because he would have an art class the following morning. It was his favourite class, but there was a 1 . Sam saw the world a little differently from everybody else. When he drew, 2 had different-sized wings(翅膀), and buildings had strange shapes. Every time he painted a picture, his teachers 3 classmates would be surprised.
