根据短文内容,选择最佳答案。

Whenever there's a terrible storm, there are plenty of sad stories. Many people lost their houses, their cars and their pets. But sometimes these stories have happy endings too.

A family in New Jersey, US, had a cat named Vivien. She is very smart. She could even draw with her wet paws on the floor. They all love her very much. When hurricane (飓风) Sandy hit America in October, they moved to a safer place-13km away from home. Sadly Vivien went missing. The whole family were worried about her. They put up posters on the Internet to look for her. All the nine family members searched wherever they thought she could stay, but they didn't find it. The family thought Vivien was gone forever.

But six months later, Vivien showed up at their house, according to Yahoo News. They considered her return as a wonder. No one can be sure where Vivien was for all that time.

Many animals are good at finding their way home. People usually say that dogs and cats find their way home through using their sense of smell.

But that doesn't explain how Vivien found her way back. Hurricane Sandy blew away the normal smells of home.

阅读理解     Lu Xun is one of the greatest Chinese writers of the 20th century. Besides his famous stories, he also wrote many influential articles about the living conditions of Chinese people.
Born in 1881 to a wealthy family, Lu Xun had a happy childhood. In 1893, however, his grandfather, a senior government official, was put into prison for taking money. At the same time, his father became seriously ill. From that time on, his family were no longer accepted by their relatives and friends. These early experiences greatly influenced his writing.
By the time Lu Xun arrived in Nanjing to study at university in 1899, he already believed that Chinese society had to change and become modern. In 1902 he went to study in Japan. There, he began writing articles for several Chinese student magazines. He showed a gift for writing and translating and he even wrote several books, although none was popular. He returned to China in 1909 because he was in need of money.
After working for several years as a teacher in Beijing, Lu Xun again returned to writing. In 1918, he wrote his famous short story Diary of a Madman. It was the first Chinese novel published using the everyday language that people spoke, which helped make it a great success. This, together with his novel The True Story of Ah Q (1921), made Lu Xun a leading Chinese writer.
Although successful, Lu Xun still worried greatly about China's future. In 1926, he moved to Shanghai and gave up writing stories in order to devote himself to what he called" pen warfare". He now only wrote articles which called on the people to fight against the government. For this, the government stopped him from publishing any more books. He was forced to write his articles using false names.
Since his death in 1936, Lu Xun's importance and influence have grown. Today, many of his writings are included in school textbooks and his works are read by millions around the world.
D.Read the passage and answer the following questions :(根据短文内容回答问题):

There was a little boy whose name was Peter. He lived by the sea. The villagers built sea walls to keep sea water from the doors of the houses. But once the sea walls almost put the village in great danger.

One day, Peter was walking on his way back home along the sea wall when it began to rain. All of a sudden, he saw a hole in the wall, from which the sea water was running. Peter shouted for help because he knew the hole meant that the sea was making its way through the sea wall, but no answer came. He realized he should do something else as quickly as possible, or the sea water could be pouring over the whole village. He started to rush towards his village. At the same time, the rain became heavier and heavier.

It was getting dark, but Peter rushed on and on. He felt cold and hungry. In the rainstorm, he fell down over and over again. Many times he thought about giving up, but he fought on. He remembered his father's words, "Lots of strong men have made every effort to build the walls which can keep the village safe from danger. The sea walls are really important."

Finally, when the boy's father saw him, Peter had been black and blue all over. The boy told the villagers what had happened to the sea wall. They repaired it in time. "Thank God! He saved the village," they praised Peter. All the villagers called him "Peter the Guard" from then on. Peter's parents were really proud of him!

Seven years ago,Joyce Akinpe moved to Australia to start a new life,finding an exciting job in Sydney. After the outbreak(爆发)of COVID﹣19,she suddenly lost her job.

Seeing that there were many others like herself in trouble from the outbreak,Akinpe and her two roommates,Michelle Gomez and Maureen Lee,brainstormed ideas for how to help their local community. They came up with a street pantry(储藏柜). Gomez said the idea was very simple,"Take what you need and leave what you can. "

With the help of Gomez's father, they built the Blessing Box — a street pantry, with shelves and hanging baskets and two doors made from old furniture.

It sits just at the back of the three girls' home,so they can look after it. They put some information notices into their neighbors' mailboxes,and the Blessing Box was quickly filled with the donations(捐赠)from the community. "It is the community's strong support that keeps the project alive. " Akinpe said.

"We now have hundreds of people visiting our box every day. It might only take two hours for the box to be full and next hour it might become empty again. We are now helping others to carry out similar projects in their own communities,too," Gomez said.

Lee said things in the box were mostly convenience foods,as well as some necessary life things such as spaghetti and toilet paper. "Few people take everything at once. They think there are other people who need them more. " Lee added.

There were many people rushing there for donations. The three girls needed to sanitize(消 毒)all the donations and make sure all food packages were not broken. Gomez said that they had no time for rest,but what they did was well worth.
