Gwondo was a trainer of dogs. He would go out every day with his dogs, to1them how to catch animals so all his tribe(部落) could eat.　　

    Wherever Gwondo went,his tribe could see him away in the distance2 his white hair would shine in the sunlight. The tribe3would say to their children, "See, there is Gwondo and his dogs, searching for 4 for us all. " Gwondo went out hunting every day and always came5 with much food. And all were very happy.

    Now Gwondo grew6 and as all humans do, one day he died. The tribe felt sad and cried many days and many nights7 one day the elders called to their children, " You have cried enough for Gwondo. Now it is time to8 living. Go down to the beach and  be happy.

    The children ran downto the beach and looked out to sea. 9 they all looked at  each other, then turned and ran back to their elders10, "Come quickly. Gwondo, he is back with us. He is out in the sea. " The elders hurried to the11 and said, "Yes! It is Gwondo back! He is now a dolphin and lives in the sea. "

    Now whenever you see12 dolphins in the sea, look for the big old dolphin. You  will know him because be has a large white fin on 13 back. He is Gwondo and he is training the young dolphins to chase(追逐)14 close to the beach so that his tribe can catch them.

    Gwondo is known to all the tribes 15  the east coast of Australia. They call him their sea dog.

Xiao Qing is a schoolboy. His brother works in a hospital of Beijing. This summer his brother lets him come to Beijing. Xiao Qing is very happy. He comes to the hospital for the first time.

One evening Xiao Qing's brother gives him a ticket for a football match. It begins in the Capital Stadium (首都体育馆) at eight clock in the evening.

Xiao Qing likes to watch football matches very much, but he doesn't know the way to the Capital Stadium. He asks a young man at the bus stop, "How much is the ticket to the Capital Stadium?" "Three yuan. "Answers the young man.

Xiao Qing finds only two yuan in his pocket. He has to run to the next stop. When the bus comes to the stop, he sees the young man again. He asks the young man, "Now how much is the ticket?"

"Four yuan," the young man says with a smile. "You run in a contrary direction."(相反的方向)

Zhou Yichen, 11, is a primary school st udent from Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province. In July, he got to the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} of Mount Elbrus. The mountain in Russia（俄罗斯） is 5,642 meters high. And it's the highest mountain in Europe（欧洲）.

The boy climbed（攀爬） the mountain with his father in five hours. "It was difficult. I thought I would fail（失败）, but I made it. I'm so {#blank#}2{#/blank#}," Yichen said.

Zhou Shuangliu, Yichen's father, is an outdoor lover（户外爱好者）. He climbed Mount Qomolangma in May. Together, they got to the top of the Siguniang Mountain in Sichuan Province twice - when Yichen was 9 and 10 years old. To prepare（准备） for their latest trip, Yichen ran 5 kilometers twice a week and {#blank#}3{#/blank#} every week.

"In the past, my son often played games when holding a phone. I told him that he could use the phone {#blank#}4{#/blank#}, because one day he will need it for climbing in other countries. And he really started learning English on his phone," says Zhou Shuangliu.

Yichen developed（培养） a {#blank#}5{#/blank#} interest in mountain climbing from his Russian experience（经历）. He hopes to get to the top of the 6,178 - meter Yuzhu Peak in Qinghai Province next summer.
