When I told my friends my family was going to move from the city to the countryside，they couldn't believe it．I was {#blank#}1{#/blank#}because I'd never been out of the city before．Would{#blank#}2{#/blank#}be very different?Well,see for your self.

    Many things are different about the city and the countryside．In the city,we {#blank#}3{#/blank#}in a tall building．Our building was filled with(装满)people，but I only knew a few of {#blank#}4{#/blank#}．Now we live in all old farmhouse．Our nearest neighbours(邻居)are bout one kilometre away．But all the neighbours are{#blank#}5{#/blank#}．They often come to visit us with lots of food．

    However,some things in the city and the countryside are the {#blank#}6{#/blank#}．In the city,my mum and I{#blank#}7{#/blank#}to go shopping at the weekend．We went to different shopping centres．Here in the countryside we{#blank#}8{#/blank#}shop in farmers' markets at the weekend．The greatest thing that is the some is friends．I made some good friends in both the city and the countryside.We do homework and read{#blank#}9{#/blank#}together every day．

When I think about the most important things．{#blank#}10{#/blank#}family and Mends，maybe there aren't so many differences between the city and the countryside．Personally,I think they're both great．

    Until last year, the saddest thing of my life was that my wife Alice and I couldn't have any children. So we always {#blank#}1{#/blank#} all the children in our street to our house for Christmas breakfast.

    Last year, Alice died. I was very {#blank#}2{#/blank#} and decided not to invite the children for Christmas breakfast. But Kathy and Pete, my next door {#blank#}3{#/blank#}, asked me to join them for dinner {#blank#}4{#/blank#} Christmas Eve.

    As soon as I arrived and took off my coat, Kathy asked me, “Do you have any milk at your house?”

    “Yes,” I {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. “If you need some, I'll go and get it right away.”

    “Oh, that's all right. Come and sit down. The kids have been {#blank#}6{#/blank#} for you. Just give Peter your keys and let him do it.”

    After a happy dinner with them, I went home. When I opened my door, I found my house had been decorated by Peter! It was just as {#blank#}7{#/blank#} as each Christmas before. Early the next morning, a little boy with a bag of candies {#blank#}9{#/blank#} my bell. Before I could ask him what was happening, he was joining by two of his friends. Within fifteen minuets, my house was {#blank#}10{#/blank#} of children, and I had all the food I needed for the usual Christmas breakfast. I had a happy breakfast with the children again.

    One day I walked to the house with golden windows.
