Dr. Ge Yun has helped many kids who were born with defects (缺陷), {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (include) me. She did my first two operations when I was a baby, which were the most important and {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (effect) ones.

    I don't remember the first two operations very well {#blank#}3{#/blank#} I do recall the third. Dr. Ge Yun was kind and eased me into the process. She tried everything she could {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (make)sure that I was okay. I {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (recent)saw a picture of me before my operation, and I knew what a big job she did.

    Dr. Ge Yun operates {#blank#}6{#/blank#} people with all types of birth defects. She also goes to other countries {#blank#}7{#/blank#} people cannot afford the treatment and helps them for free. Many people benefit from her new ways {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (invent)to fix birth defects of the head and face. She {#blank#}9{#/blank#}  (win)many awards so far.

    Though I was just one of the patients to her, to me she was {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (much)that just my doctor. She was and is my hero, and she returned the smile to me.

    On April 1,2017, China announced that it would build the Xiongan New Area in Hebei province. This will be{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(great) important to China.

    The New Area, about 100 km southwest of downtown Beijing, will cover three counties{#blank#}2{#/blank#}sit at the center of the triangular area formed by Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei's provincial capital Shijiazhuang.

    “The Xiongan New Area has great potential for{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(grow),” reported People's Daily. It had a broad space{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(develop) and will expand to cover 2,000 square kilometers . The transportation of the area is convenient, with only one hour's drive to Beijing and Tianjin.

    The New Area also has{#blank#}5{#/blank#}sound natural environment. It is home to Baiyangdian, one of the{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(large) freshwater wetlands in North China. With more than 140 lakes, the wetland is known{#blank#}7{#/blank#}the “pearl” of the North China Plain.

    Once{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(build),the area will reduce the heavy burdens of Beijing. For example, many companies , universities and scientific research{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(centre) will move from Beijing to the area.

    “International experts and media also think highly of this new area , saying that it {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(set) an example to developing countries,” noted Xinhua.

    Good morning, boys and girls. I'm here today to share a good story with you. It is a true story about a poor boy, {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(name) William Smith, had only one dollar left. He was so hungry {#blank#}2{#/blank#} he decided to beg for a meal at the next house. A lovely young woman opened the door.     After a long struggle, the battle was won. But the woman had to pay a lot of money {#blank#}9{#/blank#} the treatment. Dr. Smith, then requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He looked at it and then wrote something on it. The bill was sent to her room. She opened it, and found a note on the side of {#blank#}10{#/blank#} bill in surprise, which read: "Paid in full with a glass of milk, (signed) Dr. William Smith."
