    The book also says that girls must start becoming more confident. If you're confident, you'll {#blank#}8{#/blank#} in life. A good way to become confident is to realize that you are as {#blank#}9{#/blank#} as boys. You just look at their grades!

    Mrs．Patrick  was  a piano teacher．She{#blank#}1{#/blank#}hundreds of students．At age 69，Mrs．Patrick had a stroke (中风)．She couldn't move or speak．As the days passed，she got better, but her right hand was still very {#blank#}2{#/blank#} ．She couldn't play the piano anymore．She was very sad．

    She was a student at a secondary school. The school was across the street from my house. Every day， I w{#blank#}1{#/blank#} her play basketball after school from my house. She played very well，b{#blank#}2{#/blank#} than any one of her classmate. And she never stopped. She practised over and over again， sometimes u{#blank#}3{#/blank#} dark.

One day， I asked her， "Why do you practise so hard? You are playing very well."

"That's b{#blank#}4{#/blank#}．I want to play in the city basketball team，" She looked d{#blank#}5{#/blank#} into my eyes and said. "But I'm still not good enough. I must work hard." I was moved by her great c{#blank#}6{#/blank#}.

     Another day， I saw her crying on the grass，i{#blank#}7{#/blank#} of playing basketball. I walked across the street and sat down by her side.

"Why are you crying， girl?" I asked.

"The c{#blank#}8{#/blank#} of the city basketball team told me I couldn't go on playing basketball because I was too short."

     But some days later I saw her playing basketball again， practising e{#blank#}9{#/blank#} harder than before. I was curious and asked her the reason.

"My father told me if my d{#blank#}10{#/blank#}is big enough， nothing can stop me."

    I was moved again.

    A young rich man was traveling down a neighborhood street, going a bit fast in his new sports car. There were many kids p{#blank#}1{#/blank#}among the cars.

    As his car passed, one child appeared, and s{#blank#}2{#/blank#}a brick hit the car's side door. The young man stopped the car and jumped out. He {#blank#}3{#/blank#} the kid and pushed him up against another car, s{#blank#}4{#/blank#}, “What is wrong with you? That's a new car. What you did just now will c{#blank#}5{#/blank#}me a lot of money. Why did you do it?”

    “Please, sir, please, I'm sorry. I didn't know w{#blank#}6{#/blank#} else to do! It's my brother,” he said.  

    “He fell out of his wheelchair. I can't lift him up.” Almost crying, the boy asked the man, “Would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair? He's h{#blank#}7{#/blank#}and he's too heavy for me.”

    The young man was deeply touched and had tears in his e{#blank#}8{#/blank#}. He lifted the kid's brother back into the wheelchair.

    The man then watched the little boy p{#blank#}9{#/blank#}his brother toward their home.

    It was a long walk back to his car ... a long, slow walk. He never repaired the side door. He kept it that way as a reminder. Don't go t{#blank#}10{#/blank#}life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at you to get your attention. Listen to the whispers of your soul or wait for the brick!

    Last Sunday morning, my daughter and I went to the cinema{#blank#}1{#/blank#}. Sun Cinema is {#blank#}2{#/blank#} to our homes than other cinemas. So it only {#blank#}3{#/blank#} us 10 minutes to walk there. We saw a movie called “Turbo”. I think it's the most {#blank#}4{#/blank#}movie I know. It tells that a little snail(蜗牛) made his dream come true by {#blank#}5{#/blank#} really hard. After we got out of the cinema, we went to a restaurant to have a meal, the food is really delicious and it has the friendliest{#blank#}6{#/blank#}. In the afternoon, we went to the park. It's {#blank#}7{#/blank#}in the park because a lot of people came here for fun. Luckily, we found {#blank#}8{#/blank#}quiet by the lake to have a rest. It's very{#blank#}9{#/blank#} to sit there, drinking tea, listening to Mp4 and reading our magazines. Then we went boating in the lake.

    On our way home, I asked my daughter, “Did you enjoy {#blank#}10{#/blank#} today, Maggie?” She smiled and said “yes”
