World Read Aloud Day is celebrated each year on the first Wednesday of March. It {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(start) by the LitWorld. Org website in 2010 and has now reached 65 countries, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} aim is to encourage people worldwide who cannot read to enjoy the benefits of a book. The website asks everyone {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (celebrate) the day by taking a book, finding an audience, and reading out aloud. It is about taking action to show the world that the right to read and write {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (belong) to all people.

        The website asks visitors to join in the movement to reduce the number of illiterate (不识字的) people in the world. It is {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (absolute) necessary to help those who cannot read. The website says, “It's time to start by reading aloud to {#blank#}6{#/blank#} might like it. Share a book with a child who might need it, share a story with someone who would treasure it, listen patiently {#blank#}7{#/blank#} someone else's story as they share with you.” The United Nations says, “Literacy involves a variety of learning in {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (able) individuals to achieve their goals, to develop their knowledge, {#blank#}9{#/blank#} to participate fully in society.”  In that way, World Read Aloud Day {#blank#}10{#/blank#} help make a difference.

    Have you ever thought about the best meal you have ever eaten? For many people, it isn't just about the quality of the food; it's also about great memories of a particular vacation or the person it was shared {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. We asked 100 famous chefs from around the world {#blank#}2{#/blank#} their best meals were, and we got some{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (interest) answers.

    As the researchers expected, 30% of the chefs{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(survey) said that their best meal as a kid was still what they liked the most as an adult. 20% {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (consider) a meal in a fancy restaurant as the best one in their lives, and another 10% said that a meal while on vacation with their wife{#blank#}6{#/blank#}husband was the best of all time. 15% said that a simple meal that they often cooked at home ranked{#blank#}7{#/blank#} (high) than any other meal, and the same number said that their best dish was something they make where they work.{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (surprising), 10% of these chefs said that their favorite meal of their entire lives was at a fast food restaurant!     When I was a university student, I{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(attract) by the Chinese. So I got a job as a teacher in Wuhan three years ago.{#blank#}2{#/blank#} (think) back, I realize it was the students I. met in the first year and Chinese university life in general{#blank#}3{#/blank#}gave me the deepest impression.

    During my school days, I would rarely give up my spare time to any activity {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(connect) with study. Unless exams were approaching, my weekends were devoted to having fun or perhaps a part-time job. One thing I know for certain is that my year in Wuhan changed me for the{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(good). Thanks to the{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(polite) and warmth of Chinese students, I overcame my fear of speaking in public and became more self-confident. Most{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(important), I met dozens of nice people and made many excellent friends.

    A computer program has beaten a human player at the ancient Chinese board game Go（围棋）. It marked an important advance for the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (develop) of artificial intelligence. The program, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (call) Alpha Go, had taught itself how to win. It beat the European player in all five games of a match in October. The developers say {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (it) learning ability may someday let computers help solve real world problems. Those could include making medical diagnoses and {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (explore) scientific research.

    Previous computers have beaten humans in other games. But among classic games, Go has long been viewed as the most challenging game for artificial intelligence to master. Therefore, many people find it {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(accept) when AlphaGo won the human player.

    Go involves two players who take turns putting markers on a checkerboard-like grid (格子).  Players obtain the opponent's pieces {#blank#}6{#/blank#} surrounding them. The rules are simple, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} playing it is not. It's {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (probable) the most complex game ever created by humans.

    Martin Mueller, a computing science professor, {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (work) on Go programs for 30 years. He once said, "The new program is really a big step up from everything else that we've seen. It's a very {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (amaze) piece of work."
