A man is going to the house of a rich man. He sees a box of good apples by the road. He says," I don't want them, because the rich man will give me a lot of good food." Then he takes the apples and throws them into the dustbin (垃圾桶).

    He comes to a river. The water in the river is very deep and he can't get across (穿过) it. He says to himself, "I can't go to the rich m an' s house today." So he goes home.

    He has nothing to eat the day. He is very hungry, so he comes to the apples.

    Don't throw good things away, you may be glad to have them sometimes.

WuBinbin and his friends are talking about their travel.

WuBinbin: Look! I have a picture of the Great Wall. My family went there last summer. We enjoyed walking on the Great Wall.

Ann: My family went to Shanghai last year. We ate a lot of delicious food in Chenghuang Temple (城隍庙). I loved the food very much.

Peter: I went to Qingdao last weekend. My sister and I took many pictures of the beach. It was a great weekend.

Jane: Nice to meet you, Chen Jie.

Chen Jie: Nice to meet you, too. Where are you from?

Jane: I'm from the USA. Look! This is a photo of my family. My grandpa, my grandma, my dad, my mum, my brother and me.

Chen Jie: Wow! Is it Disney land Park(迪土尼公园)?

Jane: Yes, it is. Disneyland is a theme park(主题公园).

Look! Snow White(白雪公主) and the seven dwarfs(七个小矮人).

Chen Jie: Wow! Snow White is so beautiful.

Jane: Yeah! Look, I love this game. How many cars do you see?

Chen Jie: 1, 2, 3… I can see twelve.

Jane: You're right! I love teddy bear very much.

Chen Jie: Me too. How many teddy bears do you have?

Chen Jie: Fifteen?

Jane: No. Let's count together.

Chen Jie: 1, 2, 3… Oh! You have twenty.

Jane: Haha! Yes!

Chen Jie: I love Disneyland.

Martin: What do you want to be when you grow up, Jiamin?

Jiamin: I want to be a fireman (消防员). I think the fireman is cool.

Martin: And you, Lily?

Lily: I like children. I want to be a teacher. What about you, Martin?

Martin: My father is a police officer. He can stop bad people. So I want to be a police officer.

Jiamin: Police officers can help people. Your father is great, Martin.

Martin: Thanks. Look, Miss Wang is working hard. I think teachers are great, too.

    Last Sunday morning, my wife (妻子) and I had a walk in the park. We met a new couple (夫妇) there. We stopped to introduce (介绍) ourselves and have a talk happily. Then we talked about our own (各自的) neighbours. We said our neighbours were very friendly (和睦的) and kind, but they described (描述) theirs were just the opposite (相反的).

After saying goodbye, my wife and I got in our car and drove home. As we got to our house, we were surprised (惊奇的) to see our new found (新结识的) friends一the new couple just lived next to us.
