World famous scientist Stephen Hawking(霍金) died {#blank#}1{#/blank#} the age of seventy-six in his home in Cambridge, England on March 14. British Prime Minister Theresa May said Hawking was one of{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(great)  scientists of his time. She also said, "His achievements will not{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(forget)."

    Hawking was one of the most respected scientists in the modern history of{#blank#}4{#/blank#}/ 'fiziks/. Because of an uncommon disease(疾病) , he was kept to a wheelchair.{#blank#}5{#/blank#}, the disease did not stop Hawking from studying. He used every new day that life offered{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(continue) his research of the universe(宇宙). He said, "Where there is life, there is hope." He developed {#blank#}7{#/blank#}way of thinking about problems in his mind to reach a solution.

    This way of thinking has led to his important discoveries. He was{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(one) person to present the idea of some special energy in the universe. At the same time, Hawking tried to explain many of these difficult{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(science) ideas to more people. He{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(write) several popular science books, including the bestseller A Brief History of Time which made him a household(家喻户晓的) name.

    Stephen Hawking spent his whole life understanding the universe. He is, no doubt, a legendary(传奇的) scientist of all time.

    Many students have hobbies, like reading, painting and looking.{#blank#}1{#/blank#}animals. Some hobbies are relaxing and others are creative. Hobbies can make you {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(grow) as a person, develop your interests and help you learn new skills.

    David Smith is a student, and his hobby {#blank#}3{#/blank#} writing. During the summer of 2011, he spent four weeks on a summer camp. As well as the usual activities, such {#blank#}4{#/blank#} sailing, biking and mountain climbing, there was a writing workshop with a professional writer. "She asked us   {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(imagine) that we were in a story. Then we wrote about our experiences at the camp. "

    In senior high school David {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (write) a book about teenage life. Many teenagers love his book, and as a result, David has become a {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(success) young writer.

    David has been very lucky because his hobby has brought enjoyment and success to{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (he), but he is also interested in many other things. "I like playing volleyball too," says David. "I spend some of my free time {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (play) volleyball for my school team. Maybe I'll write more books in the future, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} I'm not sure. "

    There are many other interesting things to do in life, and we should try to do something new or different.

    We students often have lots of problems in our lives. Claire thinks the worst thing is to do {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(something). She thinks that you'll feel bad {#blank#}2{#/blank#}you don't talk to someone about your problems. Laura can't forget that she once {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (lose) her wallet and was afraid to tell her parents about {#blank#}4{#/blank#}. Now she believes you cannot get much {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(good) unless you talk to someone. And now she feels so happy {#blank#}6{#/blank#}she can do well in her study and life. Robert agrees {#blank#}7{#/blank#}Laura. He thinks you should not run away from your problems, but you have to try {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(work) them out. You can also discuss them with your parents {#blank#}9{#/blank#}they have lots of experience and are always there to help you.

    In English, we say that {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(share) a problem is like cutting it in half. So you're halfway to solving a problem just by talking to someone.
