This Christmas, maybe different from previous years, a strong desire drives me to make my own Christmas gifts. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (honest) speaking, I've promised myself this more than once. More importantly, recently I {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (return) from an inspiring trip around Britain, collecting some information about crafting for BBC's Newsnight.

    I was really struck by people's increasing {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (enthusiastic) for making things. When I asked some people {#blank#}8{#/blank#} they could sew(缝纫), only a few raised their hands. {#blank#}9{#/blank#} when I asked who wanted to learn, nearly everyone responded positively, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (hope) to learn something practical.

    Nowadays, it is common that more and more high school students open their own micro-blogs on the Internet. For one thing, it can provide a colorful platform to show their talent. For{#blank#}1{#/blank#}, it is a useful way to release their pressure. And all these make it more and more popular with high school students.{#blank#}2{#/blank#} ,many parents and teachers hold a different view. They think that managing one's micro blog will take a lot of time and energy, {#blank#}3{#/blank#}should be used to study.

    In my view, I am greatly in favor {#blank#}4{#/blank#}this activity. Today the Internet is playing {#blank#}5{#/blank#}important and essential role in our life. Therefore as high school students, we need to learn to make use of this {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(value) tool to communicate and display ourselves. What's more, opening microblogs need various abilities such {#blank#}7{#/blank#}writing, designing , being skillful at computer and so on. Only if we master those abilities can we make a successful micro blog. As a result, we will improve ourselves while {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(organize) our microblogs.

    In fact, microblog {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(oneself) is of little harm. It is your attitude towards it {#blank#}10{#/blank#}matters. We should take the advantages and avoid some bad effects.

    Overhead bridges are now very common in cities. They are often built in places {#blank#}1{#/blank#}traffic is heavy and crossing the road is very dangerous.

    Overhead bridges are used in {#blank#}2{#/blank#} same way as zebra crossing. They both serve a very useful purpose－to allow people{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (cross) the road safely and prevent unnecessary accidents and the loss of life. However, overhead  {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (bridge) are more efficient when compared with zebra crossing. When people are crossing a zebra crossing, traffic is held up. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} the other hand, overhead bridges can help people cross the street without disturbing the traffic. One disadvantage of overhead bridges is {#blank#}6{#/blank#} people have to climb up steps. This is not very {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (convenience), especially to old people.

    Many overhead bridges {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (build) over the years. For their own safety, people should be encouraged to use them instead of risking their life by {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (run) across the road. Old people may find {#blank#}10{#/blank#} difficult to climb up and down the steps, but at least it is much safer than walking across a road filled with dangerous moving traffic.

    There is one all-important law of human conduct. If we obey that law, we shall almost never get into trouble. In fact, that law, if {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (obey), will bring us countless friends and constant happiness. But the very instant we break the law, we shall get into {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (end) trouble. The law is this: Always make others feel important. John Dewey, an American psychologist, once {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (say) that gaining others' respect is {#blank#}4{#/blank#} deepest urge in human nature. According to psychologist, William James, the ruling principle in human nature is the desire {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (appreciate). It is desires and urges like these {#blank#}6{#/blank#} distinguish us from animals. People have thought about the rules of human relationships for thousands of years before {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (discover) one rule—probably the most important rule in the world: Do to others as you would have them do to you.

    You want the approval of those with {#blank#}8{#/blank#} you come in contact. You want the recognition of your true worth. You want to have the {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (feel) that you are important in your little world. So let's obey the Golden Rule, recognize others' importance and recognize it {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (honest). When? Where? The answer is: all the time, everywhere.

    One morning, I was waiting at the bus stop, worried about {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (be) late for school.

    There were many people waiting at the bus stop, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} some of them looked very anxious and {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(disappoint), when the bus finally came, we all hurried on board. I got a place next {#blank#}4{#/blank#} the window, so I had a good view of the sidewalk. A boy on a bike {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (catch) my attention. He was riding beside the bus and waving his arms. I heard a passenger behind me shouting to the driver, but he refused {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(stop) until we reached the next stop. Still, the boy kept {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(ride). He was carrying something over his shoulder and shouting. Finally, when we came to the next stop, the boy ran up the door of the bus. I heard an excited conversation. Then the driver stood up and asked,"{#blank#}8{#/blank#} anyone lose a suitcase at the last stop?" A woman on the bus shouted, "Oh, dear! It's {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (I)". She pushed her way to the driver and took the suitcase thankfully. Five others on the bus began talking about what the boy had done and the crowd of strangers {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(sudden) became friendly to one another.
