In order to know a foreign language thoroughly, four things are necessary. Firstly, we must understand the language when we hear {#blank#}1{#/blank#} spoken. Secondly, we must be able to speak it ourselves correctly with {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (confident) and without hesitation. Thirdly, we must be able to read the language, and fourthly, we must be able to write it. We must be able to make sentences that are {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (grammatical) correct.

    The story happened in ancient times. A king was so clever that he thought of a good way to test{#blank#}1{#/blank#}his men were reliable.

    One day, he had a huge rock{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(place) on a roadway at night. Then he hid {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (him) nearby and watched carefully to see if anyone would remove the big rock.     Then a villager came along carrying a load of vegetables. Although acupuncture may not cure all illnesses, at least it creates a good starting point for a healthy body.
