In a national spelling competition, an 11-year-old girl, Sara, was asked to spell a word. But because of her low voice, the judges（裁判）were not sure i {#blank#}1{#/blank#} the girl spelled the word with B or D. They asked her to repeat what she said. By then, Sara realized that she had made a m{#blank#}2{#/blank#}  . Instead of telling a  l {#blank#}3{#/blank#}  , she told them that she said the wrong letter.      As the girl went back to her seat, all the people stood up and cheered for what she did. She smiled. Many newspapers r {#blank#}5{#/blank#}  the girl's story the next day. In fact, she won great respect from others b{#blank#}6{#/blank#}   she was honest.

The young girl could simply tell a lie and nobody would find it out except  h{#blank#}7{#/blank#}  . But she was brave  e{#blank#}8{#/blank#}  to tell the truth. She made the right choice.

    It's true that the choice we make today will decide  w {#blank#}9{#/blank#} we are like tomorrow. Our children will follow us. So if you want them to grow up to be  h {#blank#}10{#/blank#} , we must show them that we are honest ourselves.

   Everybody likes oranges. They are sweet and juicy. They are in sections, so it is{#blank#}1{#/blank#}  to eat them. Some oranges do not have any seeds(种子). Some have a {#blank#}2{#/blank#}  skin, and some have a thin skin.

Many different kinds of wild oranges{#blank#}6{#/blank#}  in China today. The Chinese started to raise(栽培) orange trees about 4,400 years ago.
   Farmers in other parts of Asia and the Middle East{#blank#}7{#/blank#}  to raise oranges from the Chinese. {#blank#}8{#/blank#} they taught Europeans. The Spanish planted orange trees in the new world (North and South America). They took them to Florida {#blank#}9{#/blank#} . Oranges are a very important crop in Florida today.
   In English, orange {#blank#}10{#/blank#}  both a fruit and a color. We use the name of the fruit for the color.

    People in different countries have different {#blank#}1{#/blank#} （way） of doing things. Something that is polite in one country may be quite{#blank#}2{#/blank#} (polite) in another. In Britain, you mustn't lift your bowl to your mouth when you are{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(have) some soup. But it's different in China. And in Japan you even needn't worry {#blank#}4{#/blank#} making noises when you have it. It shows that you are enjoying it. But it is regarded as bad manners in Britain. If you are a {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (visit) in Mongolia, what manners do they expect you to have? They expect you to have a loud“burp”(打嗝)after you finish {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(eat). Burping shows that you liked the food.

    In Britain, you should try not to put your hands on the table when you're having a meal. In Mexico, however, guests are {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (expect) to keep their hands on the table during a meal. But in Arab countries you must {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (be) very careful with the hands. You mustn't eat with left hand. Arabs consider it very bad manners eating with the left hand. So, what should you do {#blank#}9{#/blank#} you are on a visit in another country? You can ask the native people to help you or just watch {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (careful) and follow them.
