It was not long that I learned how important happiness was to life.
On that day I went with my mum to the bank. I was bored. (突然), a man dressed in old clothes caught my eyes. He was sitting between the doors of two factories. He was homeless, I was not (感兴趣的), for I had seen many like him before.
Compared with other beggars, he was (不同的) in some way. This man was not sitting down with a sad expression. He had a radio in his hand and was enjoying listening to the music happily. The radio (似乎)to be the best thing he had.
“Mom, why does that man have a radio even (尽管) he's homeless?” I asked.
“He (买) it ,” she replied.
“But if he's homeless with an (空的) stomach, why doesn't he use the money to buy food or clothes? He (浪费) it on something he doesn't need. ”
“ Well, Sarah, sometimes food and clothes aren't the (最) important things. We need happiness, too.”
That man must care enough about music to buy a radio (代替) of food or clothes. I soon realized that happiness is the key to life. Without it, there's nothing to look forward to.
