A group of frogs were traveling through the forest, but unluckily two of {#blank#}1{#/blank#}fell into a hole. The other frogs tried to help them. When they saw how{#blank#}2{#/blank#} the hole was, they cried to the two frogs that they could not be saved. The two frogs didn't care and tried their{#blank#}3{#/blank#}to jump up out of the hole. The other frogs kept saying that they were sure to die. Finally, one of the two frogs heard{#blank#}4{#/blank#}the other frogs were saying and gave up. Then he fell {#blank#}5{#/blank#}and died.

    However, the other frog continued to jump as hard as he could{#blank#}6{#/blank#}last, he made it out. When he got out, the other frogs asked, "Did you hear us?" The frog, who had a{#blank#}7{#/blank#}hearing, explained, "I thought you were encouraging me {#blank#}8{#/blank#} the time."

    The story teaches us a {#blank#}9{#/blank#} There is power of life and death in the tongue(言语）.An encouraging word to those who are down can help them out {#blank#}10{#/blank#}a discouraging word can kill them.

    Once, two lazy birds lived in a nest together. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}a cold winter day, a strong wind was blowing. Suddenly, there appeared a hole in their nest. The cold wind blew in through the hole and got away the warm air from the nest. They started feeling{#blank#}2{#/blank#}. But each of them thought that the other bird would {#blank#}3{#/blank#}the hole. As a result, no one did it. Soon the snow started to fall and   {#blank#}4{#/blank#}the nest. The two lazy birds felt freezing. But no one was active {#blank#}5{#/blank#}to work. In the morning they were found dead in their nest.

    Life is the same. Some people never get {#blank#}6{#/blank#}because their laziness blows out the chances. Being not lazy will enable you to live a happy and successful life. It's up to you.

    For most of us in China, we only have to turn on the tap to get clean water. We seldom think twice about where it comes from.

    Day after day, thousands of children in poor countries have to{#blank#}1{#/blank#}hours walking for miles to collect water. What's more, the water is dirty and can cause serious diseases, such as diarrhea(腹泻). It's hard to believe, but every 20 seconds a child dies as a result of a water-related disease.

    The international water-aid charity called Just a Drop{#blank#}2{#/blank#}clean water to some of the poorest areas in the world, by building wells, pipelines(永管)and toilets. The charity has helped about 1.5 million people {#blank#}3{#/blank#}.

    Betty, from Uganda, is just one of the people who have been helped by Just al Drop. 11-yearold Betty had to walk two miles every day, carrying two heavy cans{#blank#}4{#/blank#}dirty pond water before Just a Drop placed a well in her village. "I used to get sick from the water. Now, I don't have to walk long distances and I feel much safer with this clean water."
