Doing "Clean "Exercise

    When you go for a run outside, chances are that you'll find litter all around you. Do you just go past it, or do you stop and pick it up? If you choose the second, you're part of the latest popular sport in the West: plogging.

    The word "plogging" is the Swedish phrase" plocka upp"（ pick up） and the English word "Jogging"(running slowly)put together.

    What a plogger needs is a rubbish bag and a pair of gloves to protect your hands. While collecting rubbish, ploggers learn to classify (分类)and deal with it correctly, too.

    Plogging seems simple but it does a lot of good to both the environment and your health. It can not only make the world greener, but also get you full body exercise, For example, a 30-minute logging burns around 288 calories（卡路里）， compared to 235 calories burned from just jogging.

    So next time you go out jogging, why not carry a rubbish bag and collect some litter along the way? Your body and the environment will thank you.

    Is there a connection between music and language? According to recent studies, the answer is yes: {#blank#}1{#/blank#}Here, we look at two examples

    A recent study by researcher Kraus shows that playing a musical instrument can improve a person's hearing ability.{#blank#}2{#/blank#}The people in the first group were musicians, while those in the second group had no musical training. The musicians were able to hear the talking person more clearly.

    {#blank#}3{#/blank#}Think about violinists in an orchestra (管弦乐团). When the violinists play with the group, they hear their own instrument and many others, too. But the violinists must listen closely to what they are playing, and pay no attention to the other sounds. In this way, musicians are able to focus on certain sounds, even in a room with lots of noise.

    Schlaug, a doctor at Harvard Medical School, works with stroke (中风) patients. Because of their illness, these people cannot say their names, addresses, or other information normally. However, they can still sing.{#blank#}4{#/blank#}Why does this work? Schlaug isn't sure. Music seems to make different parts of the brain work, including the damaged (损坏的) parts. This might help patients to use that part of the brain again.

    Music improves concentration (注意力), memory, listening skills, and our overall language abilities.{#blank#}5{#/blank#}Playing an instrument or singing can help us do better in school and keep our brain sharp (敏锐的) as we get older. Music is not only enjoyable, it's also good for us in many other ways.

    What is your choice when you (A)feel like eating something between classes:fruit or candy?

    (B)Eating snacks is not all bad. It depends on what you eat and why and when you eat.

    Firstly, (C)记住什么零食是健康的很重要。 Forget junk food and fast food because they are bad for your health.

    Secondly, remember that it's always better to eat for hunger. (D)Never pig out (大吃) just because you feel bored or everyone else is eating. If you do so, you might put on weight.

    (E)Finally, do you know when you should eat snacks? It's not wise to eat snacks while you are watching TV or doing homework. And some doctors suggest(建议) eating snacks two hours before meals, or you will lose your appetite (食欲) at dinner time. Bedtime is not a good time for snacking, either.

    If you pay attention to what you eat and eat smartly, you will live a better life.

    Hello, everybody! I'm so glad to experience the Sacajawea {#blank#}1{#/blank#} in the town of Cloverport. It's a community festival to bring people together. Teen Mr. Cloverport is a competition for {#blank#}2{#/blank#} from thirteen to sixteen years old. My new friend Tristan paid {#blank#}3{#/blank#} dollars to enter it. He was really excited about it. They have to wear homemade clothes instead of those bought from a {#blank#}4{#/blank#}. I think the spirit of DIY really matters. To follow the rules, they are not {#blank#}5{#/blank#} to smoke, drink wine, or speak rudely. They should be well-behaved. Thank you!
