It is said that Friends are God's way of taking care of us. I can't agree more. So it is my favorite {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (谚语). And it always makes me think about my best friend Sherry.

    She and I have lots of interests in {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (相同). Both of us like shopping {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (在线). On weekends, we always {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (选择) to climb the mountain which is the highest in our city. We like the {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (清新的) air there, and of course, it is a good way to be {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (健康的). However, Sherry is more outgoing and hard-working {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (比) me.

    This year she won the English speech {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (比赛) again. She always asks me to take the study {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (严肃地). If we both have free time, she will invite me to the library to enjoy reading. It is well known that a good friend is like a {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (镜子). Just like Sherry. She is my true friend who reaches my hand and touches my heart.

    My good friend is Bill. He is twelve years old. He {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(be) born (出生) in New York in 2005. At the age of seven, he {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (start) to go to school. When he was eleven，he {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(leave) New York with his parents and moved to Washington D.C. At his new school, he {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (meet) me. He became my deskmate (同桌). Because some terrible things were going on, at that time I wasn't enjoying {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(I). I didn't want to say anything to {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (anyone). So of course, I didn't say hello to him. However, Bill said to me with a smile (微笑) on his face, "Hi, Dale! Do you need my help?" Bill's smile made me feel better. I didn't keep silent (沉默的) anymore.

    I {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (decide) to say something to him. After that Bill and I became good friends.

    Now Bill is still my deskmate. Every day he {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (take) the subway to school with me. Like me, he {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (study) and exercises hard. We are in good health. We always {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (get) good grades.

    I was very happy that I had done well in the final exams last semester. But as mid-term exams were around the corner, I started to become w{#blank#}1{#/blank#}because I was not sure whether I could make progress or not.

    Since My mother is also my history teacher, I always think I am a little embarrassed(尴尬的). I have grown up watched by teachers of other subjects. This means I am always under a lot of pressure. I always feel that if I fall behind others, people will think badly of me. I started to force myself to stay up later and study harder than others, but soon I became tired.

    Luckily, my head teacher noticed I was behaving u{#blank#}2{#/blank#}. He decided to try and help me. One morning, I was reading outside the classroom. He came along and said with a smile: "Peter, i{#blank#}3{#/blank#}your scores by staying up late isn't a life-long solution. You have to think of other w{#blank#}4{#/blank#}to develop your efficiency(效率) in a short time."

I looked at him and nodded.

    "You are not a machine or a robot. You need rest," he continued. "When you are studying, focus on n{#blank#}5{#/blank#}but studying. But when it comes to rest, think of having a good rest only! Don't pay so much attention to your rank in the class, and you will find that studying is simple and f{#blank#}6{#/blank#}.

    I listened carefully and began to understand what he was saying. Study and rest are not like water and fire, two things that cannot be m{#blank#}7{#/blank#}. Instead, study is like a chemical reaction(反应)，and having a rest is like a catalyst( 催化剂) that makes reaction violently.
