Shake Shack is a new kind of restaurant becoming more popular in the US. The restaurants are not fast food. They {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (know) as “fast casual”.

Researchers say Americans want more {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (choose) and fresh food when choosing where and what to eat. This trend is one reason why the fast food restaurant McDonald's has struggled financially. While McDonald's is struggling {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (win) their customers back, Shake Shack, is doing well.

Bonnie Riggs, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} restaurant expert, has studied Americans' restaurant habits for almost 30 years. She says one reason why Americans like fast casual food is {#blank#}5{#/blank#} it's new and creative. Besides it is something different and people like to try new things. Her study shows Americans {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (make) 61 billion visits to restaurants last year. Three out {#blank#}7{#/blank#} four visits were to fast food restaurants, like McDonald's. Fast casual is still a small percentage of restaurant visits, but it has developed fast. Just as Ms Riggs says, “it's growing {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (rapid) because they meet consumers' needs.

    They know it's {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (prepare) while they wait; it's fresh, quality good, good tasting food at {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (reason) and affordable prices.

    Spain could soon become {#blank#}1{#/blank#}first European Union country to extradite Taiwanese criminal {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(suspect)to China, instead of their home island.

    In December, a joint Spanish-Chinese operation busted what police said was a massive{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(internationally) phone scamming syndicate(诈骗集团).

    Although most of the 269 suspects {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(arrest) were Taiwanese nationals, Beijing asked for the entire group to be sent to China. Last month, the Spanish government approved the request.

    Analysts say China's stance on the issue reflects the tougher line it has taken towards Taiwan since President Tsaiing-wen, {#blank#}8{#/blank#}party leans towards formal independence, won elections in January last year. The mainland has also spoken of {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (it) frustration with Taiwan, accusing it    {#blank#}10{#/blank#} failing to rein in (控制)thousands of its nationals who dupe Chinese people via phone scams from abroad.

    In the US, most kids{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(teach) that it is OK to be different. Most people in the US celebrate being unique.

    But some kids have difficulty{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(accept) uniqueness. It's easy to pick on someone who's different,{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(especial) if you have your own problems to deal with. This is another{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(center) theme from the movie—even the kids {#blank#}8{#/blank#}pick on Auggie have their own personal struggles.

    As Auggie's classmates get to know him better, they come to find that he's a nice kid {#blank#}9{#/blank#}a great sense of humor. They start to change their attitude toward him. In real life, it may take longer to see such changes happen. But if we give people {#blank#}10{#/blank#}chance, their hearts and minds may change in the end.

    Who invented the ATM? There have been {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (argue) for years over who should officially go down in history as "the inventor of the ATM". Now the UK government is {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (clear) saying it was James Goodfellow {#blank#}3{#/blank#} invented the ATM.

    Back in the mid-1960s, James Goodfellow was working {#blank#}4{#/blank#} a development engineer for Glasgow firm Kelvin Hughes, and had been charged with inventing a way to enable customers to withdraw (取) cash from banks when Saturday opening ended. "Most people {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (work) during the week couldn't get to the bank. They wanted a solution. The solution {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (be) a machine which would issue cash on demand to a {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (recognize) customer," he said. "I set out to develop a cash-issuing machine, and {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (make) this a reality, I invented the pin (personal identification number) and an associated coded token (代币)."

    The cash machine has become a world-conquering piece of technology. There are now 3 million ATMs worldwide, with {#blank#}9{#/blank#} number forecast to hit 4 million by 2020. The good news for Goodfellow is that people are beginning to know him for his invention. Even {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (good) for him, the Home Office has now officially recognized his other achievement.

    I paid a visit {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Cambridge last January. Though the trip took me 5 hours and it rained the whole day with strong winds, the town deserved a visit.

    The bus started at 6:10 am. It stopped at 4 stops before we finally arrived, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} wasted more time than we had expected. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(tire) with long time of sitting, one passenger stood up to relax his numb (麻木的) legs. The driver asked him to sit down but in vain. So he pulled up and said {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (serious), "You either get off or sit down." To him, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (safe) was the first policy.

    Cambridge consists of nearly thirty colleges. The {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (old) part of the university was built in the 13th century {#blank#}7{#/blank#} the newest was founded in the mid-1960s. The number of the students {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(be) so great that many students live in lodgings（出租房）and move into college for their final year.

    The heart of Cambridge has shops, pubs, and supermarkets, but most of it is university colleges, departments, libraries and other places for university staff and students. Students fill the shops, cafes, banks and churches, {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (make) them as well part of the university.

    With over 10,000 undergraduates and postgraduates, the town is a busy place indeed. Students here are not allowed {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (keep) cars. If you happen to be walking in the street during a break, you'd better stop for a moment to avoid the sea of bicycles hurrying in all directions, which carry students from one college or a lecture room to another.
