Every year millions of people are injured while exercising. Here are four things you can do immediately after an injury.
{#blank#}1{#/blank#} Rest. Stop using the injured part of your body. Lie down if necessary.
{#blank#}2{#/blank#}  Ice. Put ice in a plastic bag. Place the ice on the injured area. Leave the ice in place for 30 minutes. Take away the ice for 15 minutes. Then put the ice back on for another 30 minutes.
{#blank#}3{#/blank#} Pressing. Put a piece of clean cloth around the ice and the injured area. You should tie the cloth hard enough to hold the ice, but not too hard.
{#blank#}4{#/blank#}  Lifting. Raise the injured area. If possible, raise the area higher than the level of your heart.
Remember. If you have a serious injury, see a doctor as soon as possible.

    The well-known children's character "Big Head Son" will have a new sister in the new book Little Biscuit and Apron Mom, which is coming out next month.

    Zheng Chunhua, the author of the book Big Head Son and Small Head Dad, has announced the news in Xiamen. The new book series has 10 volumes (册).

    The book Big Head was a bestseller among children's books, and when the book came out in 1995, it was a big hit. Almost every child at the time watched the program and could sing the theme song.

    Big Head Son and Small Head Dad was inspired by the author's own family. "My son really has a big head," Zheng Chunhua said. "When my son was little, I never bought T-shirts or hats for him, as they always didn't fit him."

    Zheng has two children, her son is almost 30 years old now, and her little daughter, who is a teenager. "My daughter has been jealous（嫉妒）of her brother for many years, as I have written many stories about him, but none about her yet," Zheng said, and this is the reason leading to her creation of the new book.

    This book is so popular with the readers and one of them said, "The book is not only interesting but also I have learnt a lot from it."

Jambo's Story

    In 1986, a video of a frightening event involving a gorilla (大猩猩) and a boy was watched by millions of people around the world. The video is still popular on the Internet today, changed people's opinions of gorillas forever.

    On 31 August, 1986 a couple took their two young sons to Jersey Zoo. When the family arrived, they went to see the gorillas straight away. The father noticed that the children were too small to see the animals, so he picked up his five-year-old son, Levan, and put him on the top of the wall. Then he turned round to pick up his other son.

    When the father turned back, Levan had disappeared. The boy had fallen off the wall, into the gorilla area. The parents looked down and saw that their son was lying on the ground, about four metres below them. He wasn't moving.

    Levan's father tried to climb down into the wall to save the boy, but he was stopped by the other zoo visitors. Slowly, the gorillas came closer to Levan. A large crowd of people had come to see what was happening. Everyone was shouting. They were scared that gorillas might seriously hurt the boy.

    Jambo, a 200kg male gorilla, got to Levan first. He moved carefully around Levan. He softly touched his back. Then he sat down between Levan and the other gorillas. When he saw that a young gorilla had come too close, Jambo stood up and did not let him pass. His message to the other gorillas was clear,”Don't touch him!” He pulled lightly of Levan's clothes and after a while Levan opened his eyes and started to cry.

    Jambo ran away and his gorilla family followed him. Some time later, zookeepers saved Levan. He had broken several bones in the fall, and had seriously hurt his head, but he was alive. A man had filmed everything and millions of people around the world watched the video on the news.

    Jambo! People had always thought that gorillas were dangerous animals, but the video changed their minds. Soon letters, cards and even boxes of bananas arrived for him at the zoo. Jambo died in 1992, but people built a statue (雕像，塑像) at the zoo to remind the world of this wonderful animal.

    Last Friday, there was a talent show in our school. A lot of students took part in the show. Tom introduced every student on the stage. At the end of the show, the head teacher, Mr. Smith was asked to present the awards. He said, “Dear teachers and students, I'm happy to be here and present the award for today' talent show. You all did a good job.”

    “There are 3 awards—the Best musical Performance Award, the Most Interesting Show Award and the Beast Performer Award. It was very difficult to choose the winners. You are wonderful! You are great!”

    “The Best Musical Performance Award goes to Mary. She is very good at playing the drum. The Most Interesting Show Award goes to Mike, the Best Performer Award goes to Daniel. Congratulations to them!”

    One day, my father and I were in line to buy tickets for the circus(马戏表演). And a family was standing in front of us. The family had eight children. Their clothes were not expensive were but clean. The children talked about the clowns(小丑),elephants, monkeys and other things excitedly. It was their first time to go to the circus.

    The ticket lady asked the father how many tickets he wanted. He answered, "I want eight children's tickets and two adults' tickets, so I can take my family to the circus."

    The ticket lady told him the price. The man's wife lowered her head and there was no smile on the man's face. He quietly asked, "How much did you say?"

    The ticket lady said the price again. The man didn't have enough money. How could he tell his eight kids the bad news? My dad put his hand into his pocket and pulled out a $20 bill and dropped(使......落下)it on the ground. (In fact, we were not rich!) Then my dad said, "Excuse me, Sir, this dropped out of your pocket."

    The man knew what was happening. He looked into my dad's eyes, held(握住)my dad's hand in his, and took the $20 bill. "Thank you, Sir, thank you. This really means a lot to me and my family."

    My father and I went back home. We didn't go to see the circus that night, but we didn't care.

    I used the new machine to wash the clothes. Everything worked well, but I found one of my husband's socks missing. I looked everywhere for it, but I couldn't find it anywhere.

    The next morning I got ready for school as usual. When the bell rang, the students came in. We began the class. When I turned round to write on the black-board, the class broke out a roar! They laughed and laughed. They laughed so much that I was afraid that the headmaster would be in to see this. I asked the class to stop, but the more I asked, the more they laughed. I decided to go on with my lessons and I wrote on the blackboard. When I did this, they roared even more.

    At last the teacher who had the room next to mine came in to see what had happened. When he came in, he started to laugh, too.

    "Oh, dear!" I said. "Will someone please tell me what is so interesting?"

    "God," said the teacher, "You have a brown sock on the back of your skirt!"

    So that's how I found my husbands missing sock.
