It was a hot day. Everybody wanted {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (get) cool, so an ice cream store was popular.

    A little girl {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (hold) her money in her hand and went into the store. But the shop {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (assist) told her to read the sign on the door. The girl couldn't go into the store unless she put on shoes. The little girl left {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (slow), and a big man followed her out of the store.

    He watched the girl quietly when she stood in front of the store and read the sign, {#blank#}5{#/blank#}said "No Bare Feet”. She turned and started to walk away with tears {#blank#}6{#/blank#}her eyes. Just then, the big man called her. He took off his shoes {#blank#}7{#/blank#} put them in front of the girl. “If you walk with them, you can get your ice cream.” he said.

    Then he helped the girl put her {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (foot) into the shoes. He said, “I get {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (tire) of walking around, and it'll be good to just sit here and eat {#blank#}10{#/blank#} ice cream.” The little girl was happy. She ran into the store and ordered her ice cream.

    Mary lived in a small village. One morning, her father took her to her{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(uncle) home in town. She had {#blank#}2{#/blank#}good time there.     In learning English, one should first connect the knowledge he or she has learned {#blank#}1{#/blank#} the knowledge he or she is learning. While learning English, we can find listening and speaking are really important. You'd better try your best {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(speak) while you do much listening. Don't be afraid of making mistakes. Be careful not to let them stop you from {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (increase) your speaking speed. When you are doing this, a good way is to write a diary or letters or take {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (note). When I was in the junior high school, my English teacher Mrs. Liu often {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (create) some contexts(语境)for us to speak English. The important thing is to choose something interesting to read besides the articles from the textbooks. You can do that some other time.

    Jane's grandparents have got a big farm. They live on the farm. Jane often goes to see her grandparents on weekends. On the farm there{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(be) many kinds of animals, like cows, dogs, chickens and ducks. Jane likes{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(play) with them because they can make her happy.
