On a sunny Sunday, ten fully well-dressed people were standing at the airport (机场) waiting for the parachute (降落伞) training. Suddenly, with the help of a guide dog, a blind (瞎的) man was coming with a parachute on his back.

    "Do you also come for the parachute training (训练)?" someone asked.

    "Yes!" the blind man answered in a loud voice.

    "Ah-" the people cried in surprise.

    "I know. Are you wondering how a blind man can parachute?" the blind man said happily, "It's not difficult. I'll parachute like you."

    "But how do you know when to jump?" someone asked.

    "Although I'm blind, I can hear! When the bell for the training rings, I'll carry my dog to follow you." the blind man replied.

    "Then how do you know when to open the parachute?" someone asked again.

    "The coach (教练) says, counting to five from the time I jump down, I can open it." replied the blind man.

    "But when you are about to fall to the ground (落地), how do you know when to fall to the ground? It is the most dangerous minute."

    "It's easy. When my dog is afraid into crying and the rope (绳) in my hands becomes light, I'll be ready for falling to the ground." They looked at each other, with no words.

    At the end of the training, the coach told everybody," In this training, Robert gets the highest score (得分) for his best action."

    "Who is Robert?" they asked.

    "He," the coach replied, pointing at the blind young man.

For a long time we have learned about the 3Rs, but now there are two more in the mix.5Rs are Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle, in that order. The order of the Rs is also important. The closer to the start of the list, the more important it is. Let's start from our lifestyles! 

Refuse

Our lives are full of things we don't need, and each of them has an environmental cost. Think it over when buying. Just deciding not to spend $100 on things our family doesn't want can save 100kg greenhouse gas pollution! 

Reduce

To reduce is to use fewer resources. Before buying for children, give yourself at least a day or two to cool off. Only buy what is necessary to children. Always ask your children to turn off the lights or computers when they are not using them. 

Reuse

Almost everything we throw away in our daily lives will become litter and harm the planet in other ways. We can save resources by reusing. Reuse means using again. Have you given away your children's clothes that they can't wear to others? Or, we can use the cloth napkins and empty cans once again or more. 

Repurpose

Simply take something you are no longer using and change it for another more practical use. Think, help your children use old newspapers for art projects. 

Recycle

To recycle is to make new things from old things. In our home, anything made from metal, wood, paper and most plastics is possible to be recycled. 

Computers are wonderful machines. The Internet is also wonderful. But some people spend too much time online. They can't stop. Doctors say this is a new illness called Internet Addiction Disorder (互联网成瘾症) . 

People with IAD are online a lot. They spend many hours chatting with their friends or playing games online. Many people with IAD spend more time surfing the Internet than staying with their families or friends. Some people with IAD even give up their jobs! 

Do you have IAD? Think about the following questions carefully: How many hours a day are you online? When you are not online, do you want to play computer games or check your messages? When you are online, do you often lose track of time? Do you get angry when you can't play computer games? 

If you have IAD, what should you do? Dr. Ivan Goldberg and Dr. Kimberly S. Young give some advice. First, ask yourself, "Why am I online a lot?" Then try to take a break. For example, use the computer or play computer games twice a week, not every day. In this way, you can spend more time with your families or friends. 

Our parents are important people in our life. They are our first teachers in our life. They love us and help us all the time. Do you want to get on well with them？Here are some ways to help you to be happy with your parents

Have fun together

How much time do you spend just enjoying being with each other？Ask your parents to play with you. Go outside together，try some sports，or go to the movies. 

Be kind

Little things may bring a lot to your parents. Make a meal for them by yourself and that can make your parents happy. 

Ask for help

When you are in trouble or meet some sad things，you can ask your parents for help and advice. They will be happy to listen to you and help you. 

Have a try

You don't have to be the best but you need to have a try. They will be happy to see you have the courage to achieve your dream. It lets them know they' re doing a good job in helping you grow up. 

Being polite is important in everyday life. When you make a {#blank#}1{#/blank#}, remember to say "please". It is {#blank#}2{#/blank#} to ask for things without being kind.

If someone asks for your help, don't doubt your ability to be {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. Offer help, even if it's just a little. When giving {#blank#}4{#/blank#}, be clear and exact, so they don't get lost. In general, small acts of kindness can {#blank#}5{#/blank#} people greatly.
