It is the Thanksgiving Day . I have the strong desire to write about something to express my thanks to the people around me.

    I {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (bring up) by my grandparents {#blank#}2{#/blank#} are as kind and hardworking as thousands of Chinese peasants in a distant village. They worked in the field all day long and took good care of me as well.

    {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (Honest) speaking, my parents are ordinary people. But I must say that they are great educators, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} they educated me to be an independent and {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (use) man to society.

    My teachers, selfless, generous, devote themselves to {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (help) each individual student achieve his/her ambition.

    Meanwhile, I can share my happiness and {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (sad) with my peer students .I am happy to be with them because we have much {#blank#}8{#/blank#} common.

    I am {#blank#}9{#/blank#} luckiest and happiest person with all these loved {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (one) around.

Going out to Sun Peaks for Fun

    We went looking for some family ski fun, not too far from greater Vancouver, and we found it and more at Sun Peaks Resort, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (locate) just 20 minutes outside of Kamloops. Pulling into the village, you feel like you've come along a mountainside wonderland {#blank#}2{#/blank#} two hills. Right away you feel at peace in the mountains.

    Sun Peaks has two mountains for skiing and boarding, with lots of lift and capacity {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (get) you around. Most accommodations throughout the village are ski-in/ski-out, so you can park your car once and walk or ski{#blank#}4{#/blank#} you need to go. Morrisey is on one side, and Todd Mountain on the other, connected by trails and a covered bridge, with skiable ground second in Canada only to Whistler. There is {#blank#}5{#/blank#} for everyone, from snow flying saucer and snowmobile, to mini golf and jungle live CS. During the two days of skiing on the holiday, we never met more than five minutes of lineup, and many times we {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (run) ourselves with fresh powder.

    Tubing is right there at the bottom of the main ski hill, perfect for parents who want to have some drinks at Bottoms Bar & Grill {#blank#}7{#/blank#} the kids keep the fun going into the evening. The village is small and quiet, so the kids {#blank#}8{#/blank#} have a lot of freedom to run around and play.

    Bring your skates! There is an NHL-sized outdoor rink (溜冰场), just a 10 minute walk from the main village. Skate rentals are available, and you can join a game of drop-in hockey, or enjoy a family skate during one of the open ice times {#blank#}9{#/blank#} go well into the evening, under the stars. Check with guest services to see if the rink is open, since it is weather dependent.

    In the summertime at Sun Peaks, the chairlifts switch up to accommodate mountain bikes and hikers. Downhill biking trails create adventure for those {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (look) for excitement, and the golf course at Sun Peaks provides hours of great scenic links.

    Today I went to a conference, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} two students had a debate about the strengths and weaknesses of the Internet.

    The first speaker talked about the positive{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(affect) of the Internet on our lives. The first is its value for people who {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(look) for information now. For example, with the touch of a button or the click of a mouse, a student will find enough information at his or her command. The second is our ability {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (relate) to others through the Internet and it is especially important for disabled people {#blank#}5{#/blank#} can't leave their homes. The {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (two) speaker talked about the negative effects of the Internet {#blank#}7{#/blank#}our lives. For example, some experts think that the outcome of spending too much time on the Internet is difficulty in {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(form) social bonds. They were also quite explicit(明确的) about how heavy Internet users spend {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(much) time with their Internet friends than their real-life friends from school and work.

    Both sides presented lots of statistics to support their arguments. My own judgment is that though the Internet is beneficial, we should use our {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(intelligent) and not be a slave to it!

    The Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy turned 70 on April 23, 2019. It is a time for reflecting on its beginning and how over the past seven decades it has overcome so many difficulties to grow {#blank#}1{#/blank#} a modem naval force.

    As a major Pacific country {#blank#}2{#/blank#} has more than 18, 000 kilometers of coastline, China needs a powerful naval force that can timely respond to challenges and risks. The PLA Navy is increasingly being looked upon as an essential force {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (defend) the country's interests and protect its nationals' personal safety and {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (possession) overseas.

    Thus, the calls for China to build a blue-sea navy have become stronger, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} the PLA Navy has apparently accelerated its modernization steps trying to increase its battle abilities and readiness. Not to mention that the navy also has the duty to more {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (effective) respond to challenges to the country maritime (海上的) interests and territorial integrity (领土完整).

    However, as part of China's defense forces, the PLA Navy is a force for {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (peace) purposes, The PLA Navy has also actively participated in international humanitarian missions (使命) and {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (conduct) various exchanges with naval forces from other countries to build understanding and {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (strength) trust.

    So we have reason to believe that the PLA Navy {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (contribute) better to world peace and development.
